Description
This is one of the armored glass vision blocks around the control room on the bridge. If you look closely, you can see though into the compartment inside.And if you think the vision block is a tough nut to crack, the structure around it is a solid, tubular slab of RHA Nickel Steel over 17 inches thick!

Not only that, but consider what happened when the "Mighty Mo" (the third Iowa class Battleship) was hit by a Kamikaze with a 550lb bomb inside it --- a 2-inch-deep dent.
That was in her deck armor, which is only half as thick. STS (Special Treatment Steel) is tough stuff.
