Description
This is one of about a dozen bright, yellow floats that were set-up between USS Iowa and the wharf. It seems they act as buffers, to keep the ship from slamming into the wharf in the event of a windstorm, strong current, tsunami, etc.
It's hard to gauge from the photo just how HUGE this thing is, but it's at least 20 feet wide. Apparently, 50000 tons of unrestrained Steel will leave one hell of a mark.
It's also, as you can see, a popular hangout for the local sea bird population. XD
