Sorry about the grain guys.
Good thoughts WhiteMyst, although everybody missed the dead giveaway. The ISO speed: 50.
It was very dark, and to compensate, it lowers the film speed; part of that automatic exposure program.
It's true that older cameras did use slower film speeds and thus ended up with a grainy look (also too poor film quality would attribute to dust on the prints, as well as the negatives.

Hmm, this'll sound stupid, my being a novice and all, but it seems almost as if it was taken by one of the cameras from the 60's or 70's. They have that grainy look, but you can still see the picture, especially in comparison to earlier cameras? Yeah, okay, but it's a good shot. And if you're gonna be a pilot, bring a friend, head on up, and point yourself directly to more shots like this!

the colors are way awesome, i congrat you on this, seems it would be a hard shot to get. i do wish it were not so grainly though, but its too cool even with noise. good job, its lovely!

Moments like that make flying worthwhile for sure!
