STARGARD SPITZ (Star Guard)

Origin: Poland
Group: Utility
General appearance: A middle-sized dog, active, intelligent and friendly. Likes to work with people and other dogs. Great harmony in built and movement alike. Balanced, alert and eager.
Size, proportion, substance: Males should be 47- 57cm at withers, females between 45 and 52. Male dogs should weght from 16 to 23kg, females- between 14 and 21.
Head: Rather delicate and fine, but strong. with a visible stop and tall forehead. The muzzle should be about the length of the skull.
Eyes are round and should have a happy expression, with shades of yellow, amber and brown as the most popular colors. Light blues also occur rather often, and the rarest shade is called pistacchio. Any type of heterochromia is accepted.
Ears should be quite big, heavily furred (apart from the smooth-haired type), erect at the bottom and dropping forward at around half of the length. Ears pointing upwards are also accepted, and floppy ears are a major fault. The ears can also be held differently.
Lips should be close fitting, jaws strong, with a complete scissor bite.
The neck is long, usually carried straightly erect, and bending forward in movement.
Coat: Double: the undercoat has to be fluffy, reminding of a feather's bottom part, and the outer coat should be silky and satin-like to the touch, like the top of a feather. In the smooth variation, the upper coat is very sleek and soft, like a cat's fur.
Legs: Very strong and harmonic. Rear legs are slightly longer than front, giving a strong drive. Powerful and well muscled, parallel and moderately spaced.
Tail: Apart from the short haired version, the fur on the tail should be long, silky, hanging downwards like a drapery. Neither too bushy nor completely flat. The tail itself should be held in a curve, never reaching below ankles. It can also curl over the back. Natural bobtail is a rare but welcome mutation. Cropping is allowed as well, but leaving the tail in its natural state is prefered.
Movement: A stargard spitz's walk is rather bumpy due to the hind legs that are a bit longer than the front ones. They still look graceful with that, and they hold their heads upwards and put their front paws high. Their quick pace is very jumpy, as they just spring forwards taking long leaps instead of running in a steady pace.
Litters:There are between 2 and 12 puppies in each litter.
Use: The stargard spitzes can run with sleds, as they are fast and have good endurance. They can be also used for obedience, agility, frisbee and other popular dog sports. Due to their friendly nature, a Star Guard can be a blind person's helper.

NOTES:
The brindle is either base color or black! No other colors allowed.
Heterochromia is a lack of pigment, making the iris blue. You can't have yellow and brown or green and orange eyes- you choose one color and the only other is blue.

Since I first saw a mutt with the markings that I later discovered to be called spectacle pattern, I fell in love with them. It was around two years ago and when- just lately- I found out something more about them, I was eager to create my own breed featuring them. Thus, the Stargard Spitz was born. And its name comes from... my hometown. Yes, I live in Stargard

The Stargard Spitz is a CLOSED BREED. Don't create your own dogs without pemission- the only ways to obtain them are either by importing from me or through breeding, and you need a license to breed them.

6 imports will be GIVEN OUT FOR FREE to help the breed start spreading around. If you'd like one of them, please comment below. The dogs will most likely arrive tomorrow. The reservists will then pick their Star Guards in order of signing up for them.
The next batch of imports will be bigger and they will be sold for points. Also, my first two dogs are about to be uploaded ^^
