Description
(Your POV)
It had been a couple of weeks since Mephisto had practically forced you to move in with him and his brother. It wasn't too bad, except for the fact that he didn't seem to have much sense of privacy. One time when you were just getting out of the shower, he walked into the bathroom without even knocking, thus creating a very awkward situation. Well, at least, awkward for you. He laughed it off and apologized, covering his eyes and everything.
But looking past that one incident, life was quite nice there. You had gotten lost a few times. Man was the place huge! Beautiful and ginourmous. It was also somewhat intimidating. The room you woke up in before was where you stayed ever since then. You were sitting in there, reading a manga that you found lying around.
You sighed. It was actually pretty quiet during the day. What, with Mephisto dealing with his job and Amaimon leaving to entertain himself. You wished someone was there to help you find entertainment, despite how weird they were. You got up and stretched. Hm...maybe I'll go on a walk... With that thought, you got dressed into some proper clothes (courtesy of Sir Pheles) and left the building.
It was the first time you were actually leaving the mansion (palace?). Sure, you had been outside, but it was only on the balcony. You had never stepped off the grounds. This was when you realized that the mansion was on top of the academy. You looked around before spotting some stairs and descending.
You figured you were allowed to roam around. You technically lived on campus, after all. It shouldn't be a problem that you were roaming.
When you were walking towards the campus gates, you saw a white Scottish terrier with a pink bow around it's neck. It was wagging it's tail at you and pawing your foot. "Well hello there, inu-chan. What are you doing here?" You were about to stoop down to pet it but it barked at you and ran between your feet, almost throwing you off-balance. "Wait, inu-chan!" you said and followed it as it ran off.
You'd been following the dog for a good 5 minutes when you saw it turn a corner around the back of a building. You sighed. Well shit...
You didn't like dark places, or behind buildings for that matter. Not after what happened a couple of weeks ago.
Oh don't be silly! You're on a protected high school campus, there's no way you're going to get hurt!
You sighed and followed the dog behind the building, but when you got back there, he was nowhere to be seen. Confused, you looked around for him. You were about to turn the next corner, however, when you heard a voice right behind you.
"You know, it's quite unseemly that an adult roam around a high school campus in the middle of the day~" You gasped and jumped away, turning around to see Mephisto, a look of surprise and even fear on your face. Seeing your expression, his face fell. "I'm sorry, did I scare you?"
You were silent for a second, but regained yourself at the realization that he really meant no harm. "Wh-why did you sneak up on me like that?" You tried to sound angry but only sounded meek. The man before you sighed before giving a small smile. Yes, a smile, not that characteristic grin of his. Before you had the chance to say anything else, he grabbed you and pulled you in for a hug, shocking you into silence.
"I really am sorry for scaring you, (f/n). I meant to get a laugh out of you," he said quietly. You were about to reciprocate the hug but he pulled away too soon. With a flourish of his hat and a twirl on his toes, his grin returned. "Now! We must get you off campus, before a student reports a stranger on campus, right?" He took out a key and put it in the keyhole of a door in the back of the building you were behind. When he opened the door, it revealed the entrance hall to his home. Your jaw dropped.
"H-how did you do that?" you asked as the two of you walked in. He made sure to close the door behind him.
"It's a special key that takes me directly to my house no matter where or when I insert it into a keyhole. We actually have quite a few similar keys around campus for exorcists and cram school students, so they can get around easily. Now..." He turned to you. "I'll be back in an hour. Until then, please don't wander off. Bye-bye now~" He left, leaving you with a mildly confused look on your face.
*1 hour later*
You were sitting in the entertainment room, watching (favorite Anime). You'd been watching since you were brought back, considering there wasn't much else to do. Then you heard footsteps. You looked around to see Amaimon walking into the room. He sat down next to you and took the remote, changing the channel. You made an annoyed sound and turned to him. "Give me the remote," you said. He just ignored you. "I said 'give me the remote!'"
"No," he said. "I like this show."
The way in which he said that made you boil with frustration. "Why can't you be respectful for once?" You asked. "it's not that hard, you know."
"I have no reason to respect you." He just continued to watch TV. It was your final nerve. This guy did whatever he could to annoy you at any time. You were sick of it! You reached over and snatched the remote from his hands. For a second, he just stared at his empty hand, but then looked at you. This time, he looked angry. With no second thoughts, you changed the channel back to what you were watching before. Unfortunately you heard him snarl next to you.
This soon erupted into an argument. But it wasn't only about this. It was about every little thing he did to annoy you and every little reason he had to be pissed at you. You didn't know how long the argument lasted, but it wasn't broken up until Mephisto walked in. He was in a good mood until he saw the two of you arguing. He sighed and walked over, grabbing Amaimon by the back of his shirt. Because of the next thing he said, he must've heard a good portion of the argument. "You know, Amaimon... You actually have a very good reason to be respectful to (F/N). She is my guest in this house, and I have invited her to be a permanent resident. Not even you have this place as a permanent residence. So I suggest, if you don't want me to send you back to Gehenna, then you had better be more respectful, and get used to it."
Amaimon sighed discontentedly but surrendered. "Okay brother, whatever you say."
Mephisto nodded and let go of the back of his shirt. You just stared at the two. You should find this normal by now because Mephisto was very controlling of Amaimon, but it never ceased to amaze you how easy it was for Mephisto to gain control.
Mephisto was back in his normal, goofy mood. "Alright! I propose we go out for dinner tonight. What do you think?" He looked at you for your input.
"A-Ah....Uhm.... S-sure," you agreed with a stutter, taken by surprise when he asked you specifically.
"Then it's settled! Be ready in 10 minutes, and be dressed nice!" He disappeared with a *poof*, leaving you and Amaimon both dumbstruck. You shrugged and went to your room to get ready.
*10 minutes later*
Finding something nice was proving more difficult than it sounded.
You stared sadly at your closet. You didn't own any nice clothes. Just casuals and pajamas. You sighed and thought about what you could wear. You settled on the two nicest things. A black skirt and a white, long sleeved v-neck. You threw them on your bed, but before you began to undress, the door was thrown open. You gave a startled yelp and turned around to see Mephisto standing there, dressed up as usual, but instead of his usual clothes, he was wearing white dress pants and a double-breasted coat. You felt your face become a bit pink. If he had come in a second later, you'd have been topless. Not to mention, you couldn't help but think how good he looked in those pants and-
-WHY THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING ABOUT THAT?! He just walked into your room without knocking! That's what you should be focusing on! You were about to say something about it but he just sighed, placing his hands on his hips. "You don't have any proper clothes, do you?" He then smiled, clapping his hands together. "Well then, we'll just have to stop by the mall and get you a dress!" Before you could protest, he grabbed your hand and practically dragged you out of the room, downstairs, and into the limo. It was all you could do not to fall over when he finally let go. You huffed and got into the limo, sitting as far away from him and Amaimon as you could. You were still a bit peeved about being walked in on.
Soon enough, the limo stopped and Mephisto got out. "Come on, (f/n), we must be quick." You sighed and followed. It seemed that Amaimon was staying behind. Good. He didn't need to come in.
When you got to the women's section, you turned to Mephisto. "Look, I don't need clothes like this. I can go in what I'm wearing."
He just laughed. "We're already here. Anyway..." He took your shoulders and turned you towards a specific rack. "I think you would look beautiful in that dress." He pointed out a purple dress with black trim. It was elegant in it's simplicity and you couldn't help but take it off the rack. Without a word, you went into the changing stall and changed into the dress.
You stared at yourself in the mirror. Needless to say, you looked beautiful. You fell in love with the dress right there, and decided imposing on Mephisto's money one more time wouldn't be too bad.
There was a knock on the door. "(f/n)? Could you come out so I can see?" It was Mephisto. You sighed and opened the door. When he looked at you, he gave a smile. A smile, not a grin. You looked away with a blush, going back in without a word and changed back into your casual clothes. When you came out, he was gone.
"Mephisto?" you said, looking around the corner. He wasn't anywhere you could see him, so you just sighed and sat down on a chair outside the dressing room, probably there for weary husbands to sit when their wives are shopping.
After waiting for a good 10 minutes, when you thought he had left you there, you saw him approaching. You stood up with an annoyed expression. "Where were you??" you asked.
"I was just picking something up," he said, holding up a bag. "Ready to purchase the dress?" You just nodded as an answer and followed him to the register. When he had paid for it, he handed the bag to you and both of you went back outside to the limo.
Soon enough after leaving, you had reached your destination. Amaimon was first to get out. Mephisto started getting out but then stopped, looking at you. "You can change in the limo, we'll wait outside," he said, and then got out, shutting the door behind him.
Once you had changed and gotten out of the limo, the driver left and you were standing by the two men before you. Mephisto then reached into his pocket. "Turn around," he said to you.
"Uhm, why do you want me to turn around?" you asked warily.
"Oh, just do it," he said, smiling. You sighed and turned around, and next thing you knew, something cold was loosely around your neck. You started to pull away, but he told you to stay still, and for some reason you did. Once he backed away from you, you felt where the cold was and realized it was a necklace. Your face showed shock.
"Wow, brother. It looks to me as if you are coming on to (f/n)," Amaimon practically accused. You blushed and out of the corner of your eye you saw that it was Mephisto's turn to show shock. But he quickly shook it off and put on his normal, goofy grin.
"Of course I'm not! I'm just being nice~" He put one arm around your shoulders and the other one around Amaimon's, steering both of you into the restaurant. Your blush just intensified.
Why were you acting so girly?
It's not like you liked him.
It was gonna be a long night...
