Relationship Analysis:

So Kuya and Kiba have a nearly 20 year age difference, and their relationship took years to be where it is now. Kuya lost his first wife, Solara, in childbirth to their (piece of shit) son, Cray. Because of what happened, Kuya became withdrawn. Kuya was a stern parent and tried to instill order and respect with Cray in a militant sort of fashion- but Cray acted out in anger and the two became at odds. Kuya always regretted having a child with Solara because of this- he became world weary and assumed the romantic side of his life was forever ended.
Solara was close to Kiba's parents, but they slipped into poverty later in years as Kiba's father was injured and unable to work. Kiba's father also somewhat emotionally abused/neglected Kiba as a child (hello daddy issues). Kiba was only 17 when her parents practically (and shamefully) begged Kuya to accept her as a second wife in exchange for his further assistance to their family.

Solara made Kuya promise he'd take care of their family, and because of this, he grudgingly accepted to marry her though he wanted nothing to do with the girl. He assumed their relationship would be nothing but a 'marriage on paper' and she would continue on living her life however she pleased. Kiba felt obligated to go through with the marriage and she kept her distance from him for the first few years (she pretty much ignored his existence) and they lived together oddly as roommates. She began to mature quickly, and later began to 'investigate' and see why Kuya is the way he is out of strictly curiosity.

Kiba initially felt sorry for him and warmed up a little out of compassion, but became intrigued by him, and felt herself wanting more from him after seeing his true potential as a partner (and after being burned a few times in other relationships). Slowly, she began pushing his buttons and figuring out that he was but a lost soul, and she unintentionally began to love him. She motivates him and stirs a dormant passion he thought he didn't have anymore; and he slowly warmed up to her as well.

Initially, Kuya was only formally pleasant with her when he 'warmed up', but she began to pry into his life more than he originally intended. Kiba realized that she was able to 'dominate' him with her endearing behavior (at around 21) and that he genuinely took an interest in her. After those several years, she had Kuya wrapped around her finger and knows she's developed power over him. Kuya reluctantly opened himself up to the relationship and has become so happy and content with the young woman. He never believed he'd be happy again after the loss of Solara and even with the rocky start, Kuya would go the ends of the Earth for her. Kuya has shown her through actions that he's willing to defend, protect, and go to any length to keep her safe and provided for, and she has fallen entirely in love with him.

I love these two.. By far one of my oldest ships. Developed them soooo many years ago. Kuya was originally a sort of neutral-bad guy attacking the Mews too after theyattack his son Cray. But I later figured Kuya is too smart for Cray's bull shit and cuts him off and devotes himself entirely to the relationship he has.

Fun Fact: Kiba dated Kish briefly when she was 16 and right before she was 'betrothed' to Kuya. They simply held hands and kissed, it was very brief and nothing serious. He then went to Earth and fell in love with Ichigo of course~
