OmG! I fail at life...this was to be christmas present! Then one thing and another happened (we all know how tht goes...) and here it is, three months later!
Anyway, this is Toboe from Wolf's rain...isn't he cute! I tried out so many ideas for this picture (I oragionally wanted to draw the four main characters in human and wolf form, but I was having major artist's block) So here's the next best thing!
Done in Prismacolor pencils.

I must say, Tobowe is my favorite Wolf's Rain character. ^^ Haven't seen him in awhile...
Rrr...that face, so dang wonderful. You have such talent drawing head-on wolf faces. I envy it. ;3 ANd you enhanced the colours wonderfully. Usually when I do, something goes wrong. Too bright, too saturated, you get the point...
But how you blended all the colours and used soft, long strokes to make the fur gives it a nice touch.

Yeah, definately really saturated. I did not know the value of moderation and desaturation back then. Those are pretty much the exact colors I used when coloring it in colored pencil. I would definately do it differently now.

And to lie about it is even worse, so I took the time to compare the two.

Down to the small details: on the closest front leg, it's hidden in the snow, the bump around the wrist area and the shading on that leg are exactly the same. The face is near identical to the actual picture and there are other small but noticeable shading details that are extremely similar to the original picture. [link]
All I'm trying to say is that when you use a ref picture, please give the person who actually took the picture credit.

If you really want to know, I drew this picture quite a while ago, this is probably the last picture I refrenced from something. I have since lost the origional picture that I used. I do agree that those are similar, and this is not the one that someone showed me earlier, I never denied I refrenced it, just that the picture they had linked was not the one, which...incidently is not on that page anymore...gah. Chances are however that this is probably the one and I will link it. I don't not site things for fun, but in the days when I drew pictures based on other ones I didn't know about such rules so that stuff is not documented.

Oh, Wolf's Rain...I've heard of that. The sky looks great. I really like the bracelets around Toboe's leg, for some reason.

Wolf's rain is a good anime, but not one to watch for fun. It can be a bit slow, but the story is great, though it is all very serious and not happy by any means.

That's a really pretty wolf, but I've never seen that pic before, I didn't ref from it. It's running/walking as well. But the fur on that one is awesome..
