Description
This tut was made for begginers -and maybe intermediate- GIMP usersit may not be the best outcome because, well, its for begginers, and two, i haven't used GIMP in awhile.

Good tutorial for beginners. If I could recommend one change for more intermediate users it would be to use a light source through means of the path tool rather than having to fit a layer to the picture. Just allows you to avoid drawing outside the lines so to speak.

Forgive me, it's been quite awhile since i have used GIMP and I no longer even have it on my computer...
But i BELIEVE you can use selection tools (such as ctrl+A to select all) and then find a button that "strokes selection" which will create a line wherever the selection lines are.

(dunno if you've figured it out by now or not, but..)
in the layers dialouge (window) there should be a little dropdown menu... it'll say "normal", by default.
Just change that to Screen
