LOL! Yea, while others pan for gold, I'd be trying to get rust frozen bolts free.

This has been included in the In Rust We Trust [link] group's favourites because it embodies our sensibilities better than any shot I've ever seen.

From the condition of the sheet metal and the age of those cars, this photo HAS to be from the south. You just dont see that sort of thing in the midwest.

Then I won't tell you about the many, many classics I've seen go to the crusher over the years.
Always thought there should be some law to protect this vintage tin, in the same way that old houses are classified as historic.
It is sad to think of the generations of enthusiasts who will never know what it's like to walk down row after row of discarded old autos searching for just that right one.

Im gonna cry hahaha jesus what i would do to have a real junkyard anywhere near the ones you would have seen in the 60-80's.I have heard of a dude who bought a 35' chevy master coupe for $50 and he had to tow it himself(i would push the car home for that price!!) its just times changing i guess and people wanting cars like in the fast and furious... YUCK!

Hey i have a 59' shortbed that im changing the front to a 55-57 and making it my daily driver! and that Fairlane on your CD is PERFECT! just needs a suitable drivetrain and then to run it.
Most of them were just near the texas/arkansas border when we were on a nation wide drag strip run

I thought that was a 55-59 Chev in your avatar!
I have a 55 GMC grain truck, 55 GMC short body panel truck on an 86 short-box GM chassis with a 350/400 and a 12 bolt posi, and a 57 Chevrolet crane and a bunch of spare 55-59 Cabs and doors!
That Fairlane was a hell of a find, I love that I got it accidentally like that!
Did you see my bus?
