Description Another photo from Nova Scotia, Canada.

This is Evangeline, she was immortalized in a poem written by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Her statue is placed in Grand Pre to symbolize the struggle and hardships French Acadians faced while and after being deported to America (and other places). You can read the poem in book form or online.

You're on your own to find the physical book

It's one of those epic-type poems so it's long.

EDIT:
I just remembered. In The Princess and the Frog, the Cajun firefly sings to his love, Evangeline (the moon). I want to believe the name refers to this Evangeline because the poem is so famous in the Cajun culture (and Cajun Country). It made the song so much more touching for me

Cool ^_^ Are you talking about the movie or the story itself?

The story itself. I'll have to read it should I come across it.

Good idea I suggest using the link I've provided and reading it online. There's also an option to download it to your computer if that's preferable.
