A former lawyer and the local monster in the woods that he accidentally made friends with (you’ll never guess who is who)
Muttreazik tend to fall into basically these two groups, colloquially known as ‘kept’ or ‘cast’ (in reference to whether or not they ‘fit’ into their host family/society)
Lewis was of the kept category, since his birth family kept him around (due to his relatively tame and non-threatening features) he’s just some guy out of a job who wants to get an apartment, maybe get back into law. He has always been humanoid, but never quite human enough, and thus has a very bad relationship with himself and his species. He dresses like them, tries to talk like them, does everything they do, but deep down he knew he would never be one of them (a very common insecurity for his kind). He was fired due to the unpopular opinion of muttreazik in his state and the fact that people didn’t trust one of him as a lawyer, and he found himself pushed further and further out of society until he was literally in the woods. After trying to fit in for his whole life, he has finally been kicked out and now he has to ask himself whether or not he wants to pretend again or find out who he really is.
Azel is cast. Having likely been discarded very early on in his life by whatever family he was born into, he’s spent most of his time out in the wild. While he has human level intelligence and has taught himself how to read/understand most parts of the common tongue, everything on the outside is very inhuman and frightening to most people, and he has a very difficult time with vocalization and very little experience with actually interacting with other intelligent beings. He doesn’t have the tools to do it the right way or anyone to teach him that. So, he usually comes off as a creepy 9ft tall creature with an uncanny human face and a sword that only speaks in creaky growls who is stalking around your settlement and following people. Because of this, he tends to become the local cryptid or scapegoat rather than a person who is talked to or taken seriously, always just the monster in the woods that should be avoided or even killed. Since his many attempts at entering/understanding society have ended with him getting run off with torches pitchforks etc, he has mostly stopped bothering to try and interact with it, attempting to lose himself in the countryside (though his fascination and need for companionship remains)
I collected my sketches of them from the past few months because I had better things to do but didn’t do them. They’re fun to draw
