The tones all look nice. Your shadows could use a little more work, mostly the one from his hat on his face. The shading from dark to light there is a little rough. But shading from dark to light is really difficult for me, so I understand how hard it is to get to look right The chin and mouth both look excellent! The cig is nicely done too. The wrinkles in the neck could be a little less harsh, but without seeing the ref that just might be what his neck looks like. The nose also seems a little off, but again I don't know what this person looks like so it could just be the way they are. As a whole, this drawing looks really good though!

I hope I did a good crique for ya. I'm really not that good at it...

Thanks so much for the crit! The shadow beween his cap and his face was so annoying so i left it >.< All the other parts of his face and neck that look wrong are observation mistakes This is my second portrait ive ever done and hope i get better soon
OMG!! My art teacher says that i cant use ANY reference that i havnt made!! I dont know how im going to draw without ref...

I have never really tried to draw without a ref, but I bet that's gonna suck! Or I guess you could always take your own pictures for refs.

I love that feeling. when you get an idea or see a picture and you simply MUST put pencil to paper. (or pencil to napkin if your at a dinner table )

Thanks, it sounds daft, but I like finding random quotes from artists. I never was really interested in Andy warhol until I discovered that quote. It makes alot of sense, but I dont know whether I agree with it...
