This made me want to play Half Life 2 again for some reason. Good work, definitely.

Thanks Rob!

It was inspired by the Charles bridge in Prague, so it's sort of intentional.Β

Very immersive, tranquil scene. The whole monochromatic thing really sets the tone. Makes me feel like I'm there.
...
Plus there's also the robotic soldiers. Those make everything better.

I'm not sure how well it would have worked, but maybe the flying geese couple have had the angle of their V formation tightened to make it look more horizontal than vertical.

Though let's be serious that's a pretty nitpicky comment and this piece is great just like all your other art pieces.

Good point, I was trying to make them look a bit angled to fit with the perspective, but now that I look at it I kind of overdid it. I need to fix that.

Thank you by the way!

The ambiance is so well done in this piece. Once again you manage to nail something quite right; the light of a low hanging sun.
Something else I want to point out is the design of the guard (inspired by the robots from Space Truckers? ). These are some very believable robots, and their headpiece looks cool.

Thank you Panzerbyte!

The robots admittedly do look a bit like those from Space Truckers, but I based them on a few designs I found for the game Titanfall, and also some bipedal/humanoid robots from a Russian short film. I can't remember what it was called, though.

How did you do fog in MS paint.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BlastWaves In reply to Cekej [2017-11-26 23:37:52 +0000 UTC]

There are a variety of ways to do this effect, such as the brush tool (in Windows 8/10 MS Paint, older versions don't have it), or making a linear gradient (www.nerdparadise.com/mspaint/l… ) and then using transparent select. For this scene though, I used Paint.NET to make the fog as it takes a fraction of the time to do then with MS Paint.
