OC doodle of a lantern bug with some obvious modifications. Just got back from visiting my cousin for the week, so I'm trying to get back into the swing of drawing again. What better way than by doodling colorful bug monsters.Related content

The colours are pleasing, it has its own life and I think that a gradation could never do such a beautiful effect. The bug is very original and at the same time, so natural that could be a hidden species or something like that. I liked it very much.

Well, it's funny.. the last pic that I did was a trade, but when I drew it I was thinking of you.. or rather your love of bugs :3 you should check it out if you haven't already. Oh, and did you use a ref when you drew this? I found I only slightly had a hard time drawing the carapaces.

I was a huge Lisa Frank junkie when I was younger, but the fact that they're doing those creepy Bratz-style humans now just makes me want to cry in fear ;_;

I dunno, it seems to be more of a fantastical insectoid like the hookah-smoking caterpillar than monstrous like a hostile giant millipede with claws and huge, gnashing mandibles ready to devour young Link...
I must say that the psychedelics you've thrown in there are pretty nice... I'm almost reminded of Lifesavers by the curling tip of its... antenna? headplate?
Can't say I'm very comfortable with the idea of an athropod staring into my soul though... *shudder* Pretty interesting that when I stopped to notice/consider it.

That's a very pretty creature for being a monster. Kinda reminds me of the newest pet I have hanging around my house. There's a pray mantas that likes to chill in my house.

I'm not familiar with lantern bugs, so I had to look it up. Such a striking creature! And your work sure captures it's uniqueness, especially those wings. I love how you made those.
