Backstory:

Jotunheim, the land of giants. To a normal human, these lands seem vast and immense, trees and mountains stretching impossibly high into the air; all suited for their native inhabitants. Jotuns of rock and frost make their homes here, making travelers wary about entering this domain. Stories of their infamy and cruelty spread far and wide, but one of them outshines them all.

Many years ago, Katja, a young frost jotun, was lost and separated from her tribe, wandering Jotunheim’s snowy wastes. Her kind is resistant to harsh, blizzard-ridden conditions, but she had not developed her senses to navigate it. Being unable to see even an inch in front of her face, Katja struck out in a completely separate direction, her cries being drowned out by the storm. Stumbling upon a cave in a cliff face, the little jotun waited out the blizzard until it had calmed. Emerging from the snow, Katja immediately fell upon her survival instincts, hunting animals for food and using their furs to clothe herself. She did so on the move, hoping to one day to be reunited with her tribe.

Unfortunately that wasn’t to be. While exploring the snow fields, Katja came across a band of Dokkalfar, or Black Elves, a sinister species of elf that lived within the twilight realm of Svartalfheim. She was captured to be sold later as a slave to a vile master. While traveling with the band, she discovered that they were transporting a rare creature, the giant wolf Fenrir. Taken from his prison, he was to be transported to Loki, as Fenrir was an integral part of the god’s plan to defy Ragnarok. Katja, unaware of this plot, freed herself and then Fenrir, feeling sorry for the gigantic beast. The jotun and the wolf tore apart the black elf band and vanished into the wilderness.

Together, Katja and Fenrir formed a bond as strong as that of any family. They were never far apart, always hunting, eating and sleeping together. The years slipped by and Katja grew nearly as tall as her furry companion, towering over normal humans, intimidating them even further. During their exploits, a vast treasure hoard had massed in Katja’s old cave hideout, becoming more of a hindrance then something to be proud of. They needed a place to call their own and Katja’s dreams pointed her into owning her very own castle.

For a time they scoured Jotunheim’s mountains, seeking out an old ruin they could inhabit. After tireless searching, atop one of the tallest mountains, the Katja and Fenrir found the perfect site. The majority of it was still together, but a little hired help from dwarves would finish it up nicely. The only problem now would be its current occupants, a group of shaggy snow trolls. The once-men immediately beset Katja and Fenrir regardless of what tales they had heard about them, this was their castle and they weren’t about to let it go. Standing at half the height of a giant, they were imposing, but not entirely difficult for the jotun and the wolf.

Their leader, however, was a troll without comparison. He was a mighty mountain of muscle, nearly as tall as Katja, wielding a greatsword that pulsated with magic. Katja insisted to Fenrir that he let her take on this troll one-on-one. Their duel leveled the great room, crashing through the wall into the courtyard. It ended when the troll lost his grip on the sword, reverting him to a more manageable size. His advantage taken away, he mustered what followers he had left and vanished from the castle, vowing to return one day to continue their fight. With their treasure safe as well as a roof over their heads, Katja and Fenrir made the castle their home.

Tales of Katja’s infamous deeds and adventures have become legend throughout all of the Nine Worlds, earning her a name feared and respected. Some say she will play a role in the time of Ragnarok, but that has yet to be seen.

Appearance:

Katja is a buxom, blue-skinned frost giantess with blonde hair and burning red eyes. She normally towers over people at a gigantic height of her choosing, but sometimes prefers to “sink down to their level”. She usually adorns herself sparse armour (if you can call it that) and furs.

Personality:

Likes: Fenrir, eating, fighting, loving, cold weather

Dislikes: Warm climates, anyone who doubts her strength (and/or awesomeness), Black Elves, Trolls

Katja has a very cocky personality, almost as if she is making up for something. While she can be arrogant and haughty about her prowess and appearance, she protects anyone that is close to her with vigorous determination. She also has a sense of fairness and for what’s right, even if she likes to tip the scales in her favor whenever she can.

Skills and Abilities:

Frost Jotun: As a frost jotun, Katja is very long lived, is immune to the cold as well as ice magic. She may also change her size at will.

Mistress of Ice and Snow: Katja’s power over the ice element gives her the ability manipulate the temperature, create spikes of ice, among other things.

Amazonian Physique: Katja has immense strength and endurance and looks damn good while showing off both.
