Dryads aren't made of wood in this canon, they have more in common with fey than they do plants. At first Eurydice was against Orani's occupation but eventually she figured it was like marrying a butcher more than anything. The forest is far more resilient than someone like a halfling, for every tree Orani cut down two more were planted.
