Squid Ink Onyx is a gem who's existence is a tragedy, as this onyx is extremely unstable with it's shape-shifting power, as underneath this seemingly innocent if not eccentric gem lies a monster that strikes terror into any seafaring gem and leaves destruction in their wake. This gem has a very similar body shape to that of a larimar despite not having any much connection to ice or sculpting, whether this was a shape-shifting choice the monster made or just a coincidence is unclear.

This gem is constantly crying similar to Onionmarine and their only defense against attackers besides the giant squid form is a protective bubble that they retreat to during signs of distress and will probably choose to run away. They cannot seem to remember shape-shifting into their monstrous form or any of the destruction said form caused. They also have an appetite for shiny things.
