Imagine they level up enough to evolve(Or in Jay's case, he finds a Thunder Stone). Then imagine combining the evolution special effects with the True Potential special effects! After they evolve, just the True Potential effects happen when they use it, unless they have a Mega evolution...

HEADCANON: Jay finds a Thunder Stone, and treasures it and loves it and carries it everywhere with him and even almost tries to eat it like candy, but still can't evolve until the moment Nya says "You're best when you're you."

Traced the lineart of a Raichu from a google image and edited it to add Jay's features and armor.
