Description This one.... I dunno. I like the drawing, but I think it gets away from the theme a little, which is to be illustrating things as Pietro remembers them. And while I'm sure he remembers his father like this, this turned a little bit more into a hint of my view on Mags, instead of how Pietro might remember shit.

Plus: the shading was FUCKED in this. >:/

__________________________________________________________________________

When I was 9, I learned survival. Taught myself not to care.

I was my single, good companion. Taking my comfort there.

Up in my room, I planned my conquests. All alone, never asked for a helping hand. No-one would understand.

I never asked the ones who moved below. Just incase they said "No."

Pity the child that has ambition. Knows what he wants to do. Knows that he'll never fit the system others expect him to.

Pity the child who knew his family. Saw their faults, saw the love die before his eyes. Pity the child that wise.

He never asked "Did I cause your distress?" ... just incase they said "Yes."

When I was 12, my father moved out. I wasn't enough to keep him about.

I didn't miss him, he made it perfectly clear that I was a fool and probably queer.

I took the road of least resistance, I had my games to play. I had the skill, and more, the hunger, easy to get away.

Pity the child wiht no such weapons, no defence no escape from the ties that bind. Always a step behind.

I never called to tell him all I'd done. I was only his son.

Pity the child, but not forever. Not if he stays that way. He can get all he ever wanted... if he's prepared to pay.

Pity, instead, the careless father. What he missed, what he lost when he Let me go. And I wonder if he knows...

I wouldn't call, a crazy thing to do. Just incase he says "... who?"

Lyrics (more or less) from Chess.

Dysfunctional families are wonderful. Except for, y'know, all the decidedly un-wonderful things about them.

"Dysfunctional Families are Wonderful" sounds like something you could put on a t-shirt a threadless.

wow, this one is awsome. I love the lyrics in this, as it actually resonates with things i've felt in the past. Poor kid, it fits in so well with pietro.

Aww, I hope everything turned out ok for you!

As soon as I'm done with this series (another 2 sets of four, a total of 8 drawings) I'll be posting the lyrics in their entirety, as well as putting up a link to where folks can listen to the song on-line.

But not until I'm done. Why? Because I'm fuging the real lyrics around QUITE a bit, and I want folks to see my interpretation before they listen to / read the REAL ones. XD Because clearly- I'm the only one to have ever listened to chess ever in existence 9_9;;

They both look like they need some serious hugs.

They could hug each other.

Y'know.

If that wasn't so horribly OOC for them both XD.

I'd still like to see it, ya know.

Some male bonding. They need it.

XD Which really is just to bad. Because that is a ridiculously funny image, though.

This whole series SO makes me think of a children's book. You should pitch this as a children's book! ....only with a happy ending...and no Pietro as the star...and less....sadness

BlazeRocket In reply to JCRobin [2008-09-05 08:55:59 +0000 UTC]

It COULD be a children's book:

instead of "Why do I have a bellybutton"

it could be "Why some kids don't get to be happy"

Yeah? YEAH?
