Description UPDATE 2: The character designs have been updatedΒ ::AEGIS:: Main Character Update

UPDATE:I fixed the grammar mistakes.

Instead of just slapping on some sketches that I made before making this comic, I decided to give you a piece of their personalities along with their faces. Why no special clothes or color? 1) They change clothes all the time anyway and 2) No color because that deserves to come later in a better drawing with more time put into it.

None of their names are mentioned in this comic, but the one on the left is named Clifford. He's seventeen. The one on the right is Rye. He's only twelve. Both of them are brothers, which is probably why they're bickering. All of what you're seeing here shows no spoilers and nothing on what the story is actually based around. But I'll give you a hint. It's science-fiction...ish. I actually have no fucking clue what genre to put it in.

I'll admit it. I'm a beginner at drawing humans. I have drawn them before but I've never posted something showing the improvement of my skills. Maybe some FullMetalAlchemist drawings, but nothing too special. If you've drawn humans and can offer some advice, I'll be happy to take it.

So if you've seen some of my previous drawings, then you'll know that I may have introduced them before. Only now they're humans and my drawing skills have improved. Also, the story is a lot different from the first time I introduced them. I'll tell you right now, it's a heck of a lot more interesting.Β

So what do you think about them? Interesting? Boring? Does Clifford's hair remind you of Skrillex? Is Rye really an asshole? Tell me your thoughts, I'd love to read them!

Hehe, I think I like Aegis already. If you're a beginner at drawing humans, then what am I? Any human drawing you make will likely be better than any human I draw. You have a good sense of shading, and you're great with expressions. I can see very realistic emotion. The dialogue is funny, with no spelling errors. You missed a comma before the words "you moron". It is common for people to ignore the "direct address" grammar rule. Also, using more than one exclamation point has never been proper punctuation.

You are doing very well. I can't wait for the comic. ^_^

Oh woops, I try to keep a close eye on my grammar mistakes. At least I used the right "you're" XD I'll keep the direct address in mind next time I write dialogue. Thank you so much for the advice, I tend to miss those sort of things some times.

You're welcome. ^_^

It's fine to make those mistakes, nobody is perfect. There was a time when I was sort of spaced out, yet I still knew I was taking a Language Arts test. Guess what happened. xD

Besides, people just don't seem to care about grammar these days, so I bet a mistake as small as this is completely unnoticeable to them. As I said, you're doing very well. (:

I'm still having the same problems with drawing humans too.

My best advice for drawing humans is to draw your all time favorite human characters (for practice). As an arist, I've found that sketches/pictures only get finished if there's motivation to make the final product. So, find/create human characters that you truly feel motivated to draw, and practice drawing them.

Hope that helps.

Oh yeah, I know exactly what you mean. And I love drawing these characters for sure. If you see the updated designs of the characters (blazerona.deviantart.com/art/A… ), you'll see that I improved a lot in just 3 months.

It just goes to show what an obsession over your own comic will do to you lol

Why are they humans now?

For a number of reasons:
-It fits the story better
-I need to learn how to draw humans anyway
-The designs look better
-I want to keep the creepy side of the furry fandom as far away from me as possible.

Hm. I guess you are right, it really WOULD fit the story better.. The comic will still be wonderful by itself, no matter the species, Erin! ;v;
