our heroes are in a tight spot huh XDDDDDDok so I made this a while ago and it was Christmas day soooo i didn't post it since i didn't want to ruin the happiness and cheer with this ANGST! XDDDD
idk i was in a mood to do something different something serious ya know! step out from my comfort zone and stuff and I am kinda proud of the results I mean it could have been better but meh i am still a beginner artist X''DDD this shit took me literally 3 day!!! 3 DAYS!!! like wha?!!?!?? it was all because of the freakin background i just didn't know what to do with the background at first I wanted it to be like a fiery background and complete destruction but i totally failed at it it didn't look good so I thought hey how about a rainy depressing background but the shading i had done on the characters was for the fiery background AND UGHHHH I just made it work SOMEHOW this really gave me a headache!!!! :note to self try out background first before you start shading:
this means that I have to practice backgrounds moreeeeeeee! then only will i get better and also do some study about intense moments and stuff ahhhh welp every picture is a one step further to reach my full potential so I don't regret it at all! X3333
welp hope you guys like it and if you have any suggestions on how to make it look better please tell me because i am an absolutely clueless lemon XDDDDD

Hello! Just a random passer by~
Okay, if you didn't get the results that you wanted like said, then maybe try sketching/working the different elements separately in different layers. One for Sonic, another one for Shadow, then on the background. Then make layers for each one afterward.
Second, I can't really tell where is the light source comingΒ from, basing on the shading you did. Is the light coming from both sides? And how far is the light source? Are they just getting a glimpse of it? And then also, Shadow's rings are illuminated, so that's another light source to consider.
That's all I can really tell. The shading (disregarding the problem on the light source) was amazing and it really deepened the emotion the artwork is giving of (hopelessness, I assume). Both elements are in perfect proportions and are balanced. You also have developed your own anatomy and have a good understanding of emphasis and variety.

yup Ik the light source was kinda confusing to me as well i wanted light to come from both the sides but meh I failed at that I was too frustrated with myself to fix the light problem so I gave up XDDD
