It's actually based on real art from Metroid:Zero Mission. If you clear the missions in a certain amount of time or percentage done, you get images of Samus wearing this!

I've gotten that ending in Zero Mission. Finished it in less than two hours.
Seeing that outfit with the arm cannon instead of the stun laser is very refreshing to me.

Oh yeah! Haha that was sort of a liberty I took because I wanted more of a challenge prop wise, but I will be uploading more photos from the shoot where I have the Paralyzer instead

Oh gosh, well I really enjoyed the Primes... Corruption had a really cool concept and I kinda got obsessed with Phazon Samus

I'm impressed to see your dedication towards Metroid and Samus, you do seem like quite the hardcore Metroid fan if you went as far as soft modding your Wii just to have your favorite suit playable out of obsession. Other M was quite good in my opinion, I barely had any problems with it. It blended classical and a bit of Prime's FPS elements and you could pull off some neat combos on your enemies.
The mainstream blew whatever flaws the game had out of complete proportion. Samus talking never posed any problems to me and, well believe it or not it's not actually Team Ninja's fault, all they did was follow the directions Nintendo gave em. They have plenty of awesome female characters to prove they can handle it. I mean sure, they use Dead Or Alive's fan service as a marketting technique, but look at Kasumi, Ayane and Momiji who are playable in Ninja Gaiden, they're anything but empty characters.
I'm glad to see you're actually quite the knowledgeable individual, we need more people like you who know their stuff to a tee.

Oh, don't get me wrong! I really did enjoy Other M. I also cosplayed from it a few years ago because of that fact (and heard quuiiite a few negative opinions while doing it). I just sort of have mixed feelings about the portrayal of her personality, but nothing that made me ultimately dislike the game. Everything seemed to stick to cannon pretty closely, I suppose I had just been hoping for a bit more of a headstrong Samus Aran to show through, but that was me just hoping a personal preference would be fulfilled, nothing I would hold against the game directors. I also was a bit 'meh' about the fact that they made her a bit thinner and gave her high heels where I had been hoping for sort of a more practical and athletic look, but unfortunately a lot of Samus' marketability these days is her sexuality.
Overall it's certainly still worth playing and did not deserve HALF the negative backlash it got.

Glad to see we're on the same page. Yeah I'm fully aware of how Nintendo uses Samus's sexuality to market her, honestly, as a male video gamer, I don't mind it too much for obvious reasons, a reason that's not so obvious though is probably that because I've been playing Metroid before I even knew Samus was a girl made me careless over the years about how sexualized she has become.
What a lot of people chose to ignore is that the Samus who we see in Other M is the Samus from the Metroid Mangas, not the games. Her personality is experienced differently. I just wish it never became a 'Mainstream' thing to hate on a bloody video game that was actually full of different qualities. The gameplay never caused me any trouble, the combat was so exciting and intense.. fan service like the returning bosses in 3D and such .. Also, her running speed heavily reminded me of Metroid Zero Mission's running speed.
All in all, I wish Samus's whip would've been implemented in gameplay in Other M, remember in the Smash games how powerful it is?
