Kurin's name is derived from the Gobin Shark species' Family name, Mitsukurinidae.

- Has webbed fingers and toes.
- Is very scarred up from battles.
- Teeth and flesh are red.
- Gender and sex are male.
- His jaws can unhinge and launch forward to grab prey, just like a real goblin shark.
- Is carnivorous.
- Nicknames are 'Ku' or 'K'.
- Will probably be a rogue swashbuckler.
- Speaks in a guttural, 'watery' tone of voice, as if speaking with water in his mouth.
