Bliss turned to the vault and almost hap-hazzardly twisted the lever expecting it to be solidly locked. To her great surprise, the handle engaged and not only did the door swing open, there was a PERSON inside!

Most patrols, and by 'most' I mean 92.7% of the time, are mere exercise and boredom management. When an unexpected event occurs and you are not ready for it, untrained/under-trained people hesitate. The hesitation is so their brain can process an UNexpected outcome while debating the validity of the possibility of acknowledging that the initial assumption was ... ... wrong. It just so happens, that can happen to two people in the same situation at the same time.

Now complicate that whole process with seeing a someone very attractive, dressed to show off ALL her assets....and you have two deer-in-the-headlight reactions doing mind battles over WHAT just happened with what COULD happen, in a cloud of what each fantasizes they WANT to happen... You still with me??
