Been a long time since I added anything online so to keep up appearances here's something I did last nightif you don't know who Dial and Zaur are don't threat their better known for their price tag then their characters with each fetching over $500 in their boxes and these are toys about the size of micro cassettes

Zaur gets a blink-and-you-miss-it cameo in TF: Animated! And it's sad that that's actually the biggest appearance these combining cassette guys have on TV. I mean, such a cool design. They've got great beast modes, and being able to combine into a robot mode is all kinds of win (because cassettebots are cool, but fingers are good and cassettebots tend not to have 'em.)
Guys who turn into cars start to run together, and there are a lot of toy gimmicks that don't translate into story form well at all (namely, most anything with "-master" in the name.) but there are so many cool things that don't make it into the show.
(Okay, Squawkbox gets a few quick comic appearances... but always in combined mode so the design is wasted.)

Really digging the perspective and tones on this piece, Blitz. I agree with Gauge0001, these should be Encores (as well as Overkill and Slugfest)...I'm sure my Soundblaster, among everyone else's, would enjoy the company!

ohhh... *flips through book to find them*... how nice! you picked the more interesting ones out of the four (there's also a red pteranodon, Graffi? and a skyblue, two-legged one, Noise) Apparently these two combine with each other, as do Dial and Zaur, to form a robot... how interesting... they're from an '87 Japan line
