Whisper is a bundle of energy that always seems to be on the move. Even behind their mask you can tell they're always wearing their heart on their sleeve. They will stick their nose where it was not asked to be had, listen in when not invited, and generally meddle into the business of others. Especially if it pertains to their health. He seems stupid or slow sometimes, but it is more that he is not so practiced with social cues. If it's not battle, he isn't the best at reading people or situations. He can say things that seem rude or blunt but often mean no harm at all. He is happy to explain himself and easy to sadden if people get mad at him for his mistakes.
Despite all this he is very good at his job.

Raised among bandits and criminals, Whisper is not sure if they were picked up as a babe or borne to one of the others in the family. Many came and went. Being a criminal wasn't easy, after all, so many were caught. Many were killed. As a kid they were taught to steal, spy, and plunder to survive. It was not something he enjoyed too terribly, but it was one he seemed rather good at. He had a strong will to live, after all. Growing slight and soft, he was taught to fight mostly by younger members of the group and the women.

When he was 8, they were foiled in a plot to burgle a merchant's carriage. He was caught in the fray and injured badly by a slash to his face. Left unconscious and bleeding by both victim and family, he was sure he'd pass. It was sad but it was a fate he knew would come. Not that he accepted it laying down. Instead he got up when he regained consciousness and managed to get to a town where a medicine man picked him up. He was nursed back to health. From there he was taken under the wing of the healer, enjoying the lessons and travelling.

Many were afraid of his face while healing and it was the healer, his guardian, who gave him his first mask. From there it became his security blanket. His armor. He knows his scars are not terrible, but he cannot shake the child-ish memories of fear on the faces of those he helped. He has a hard time facing people and a lot of self confidence issues without his mask(s). He feels unsafe. Exposed.

Grown now, he works on his own. Travelling and collecting more medicines. More ways to heal. He's always happy to learn new things and explore new cultures.
