This was for Planet-Pulp.com's Dec. Rankin/Bass show. If I have more time this month I'd love to have a go at a Rudolph piece.. Either way this cartoon got into my head as a little kid and worked its voodoo for sure-- pencil sketch colored in photoshopRelated content

Sweet re-vamp of a classic Christmas cartoon's art style. While the characters' proportions in this piece are more akin to the standards of realism and semi-realism art, your style does a wonderful job capturing and paying homage to the wonderful Christmas vibe this cartoon brings every December. The light sepia filter that covers the entire piece also helps capture the cartoon's old-school vibe.

Dude I love this. Im a big fan of Rankin/Bass and all there Cartoons. As a kid when it snowed, I used to put on my Bubble Jacket get my little sister and and head to the biggest hill in the park. I'll tell her to hold on tight, then I would take a running dive and slide down the hill with her on my back. After a few times my belly would be killing me but, just to see the smile on her face was priceless.

Classic! You've captured the essence of the characters and added a buxom friend -- I'm presuming a grown-up Karen -- for Frosty. He'd better be careful, she's way to HOT! for a snowman. ; ) Great nostalgia piece.
