I wasn't wondering where the sweater came from! And I wasn't wondering why his mask was pulled back! Honest! Well...maybe I did wonder a little bit where the sweater came from. That Peter face is glorious! I mean that with every fibre of my fibre. It's so expressive and stylish. I immediately became intensely jealous when I saw it! I wanna do faces like that! Peter's left and MJ's right arms look a little long. I think they're well done. Just a little long. And I see that sketchiness of buildings in the background. Tried to slip that one past did you? Is Spiderman wasn't so associated with city landscapes I'd probably draw him more often. But you have the beginnings of some nice perspective there.

Ok, I confess...it came from my closet. I don't know why, I just really wanted to draw Peter wearing my blue Edinburgh sweater with the little Scottish terriers on it! Plus I just read the Ultimate Spider-Man where Peter has to hitch a ride back to New York in the cargo of a plane and raids somebody's suitcase because he's practically freezing to death. It's actually quite funny, he ends up running through the airport with the most horrific ensemble of clothing I've ever seen, all on top of his costume. Dakt mentioned Peter's expression too...I wasn't totally satisfied with it if I'm being honest. But I guess it came across how I wanted it to, so I'm happy. And you're totally completely right about the arms. I did this pic without any reference...just straight from the brain and onto some scrap paper. I should never ever do pics without reference! I like how it comes out much better when I do use reference. Curses! Foiled! Nobody was supposed to see those buildings! I kinda started thinking about maybe doing a background and then remembered that I'm lazy. -Liss

Ah see, that makes perfect sense. I may have at some point drawn Tim Drake in my clothes. I must have that Ultimate Spiderman issue sitting in my 'to read' pile. I know I have one or maybe too Ultimate Spideys there I haven't gotten too yet. It reminds me of the old Incredible Hulk show. I've been watching that a lot and it seems that whenever he reverts back to Banner, no matter where he is, he always manages to find a collared shirt and a pair of flares to wear. Even if he's out in the forest. I think for doing this without reference it's pretty sweet. It really is a complex arrangement and to do it just from the brain... Wow. There was some comic book artist who never did backgrounds! He actually got someone else to fill in all the backgrounds! I can't remember who it was...but what a sweet deal!

Somehow that doesn't surprise me. Forgive me my Canadian ignorance, but...what are 'flares'? Some kind of pants? I'm just going to assume they are and add that collared shirts can easily be found in your local forest. Man, that would be sweet! Just make some poor intern do all the dirty work...-Liss

They are indeed pants. You know those pants people wore in the 70s? Bell-bottoms?I wouldn't say it's ignorance not to know what they are. Probably more good fashion sense. But...uh...I don't know what forests you've been too that have a ready supply of shirts.

Ah, I see. That's what I thought. I don't know about Australia, but here in Canada we breed shirts in forests. All the time. It's a regular practice. -Liss

Thank you thank you. It's usually my first instinct to go with a bodily fluids remark...but I try to hold them back.
