Description Galadriel, from Lord of the Rings. Inspiration from Mucha. ^^

There is a song from the movie trilogy that has exactly the feeling I wanted this illustration to give, if you'd like a listen. Song 6.

Uuuuh. T__T If you have coloring advice for this piece, please give it. It's been "done" for maybe a week, and I've let it sit open on my computer, trying to figure out if I like this minimal coloring or not. Or maybe it's the border that makes me confused.

A re-mention from what I wrote on the line art ~ what deep thought went into this piece was limited to trying to figure out how to portray a person who is agelessly a maiden, but burdened with the knowledge of a hag. [Referring to the Greek literature thoughts on the course of a woman's life and person flowing through the three main phases of maiden, mother, and hag.] Toplessness is usually a reference to innocence ... while she pointedly looks away from the rising sun into shadow.

I've also posted the lineart and the rough drawing, if you're curious. XD Loool process art. The rough looks nothing like the final. ^^

ps. Not marking it mature this time. Because I really hope it isn't. Boobs shouldn't be mature unless they are tastelessly made that way.

This is stunning. You delivered everything the lineart promised and more, and oh my god I can't stop staring. The limited palette is perfect and makes me - well, I don't know. The latter age of the elves always fills me with such an aching sadness, and you captured that so well.

I like the minimal colors and I think the lighting and the cool shadows are beautiful. You can spend forever painting something with a lot of detail, but if the lighting and colors are not a strong point, the whole piece will look boring. :/

I'm extremely fond of the coloring on this, especially the light shining on the skin and clothes. The composition as a whole is lovely, and the simply silhouettes in the background are <3 I just really like it a lot. maybe it's because it's PURPLE-ISH

I really like the border, actually. The colour of her dress kind of falling off of the page and bleeding into the border colour really is a lovely touch.

I really like the shading and minimalist style, but to be quite honest something about her skin ton stuck out at me before I even read that you were unsure on the colours. The purple/blue shadows on the body are very nice, but the greenish tone to her face kind of ...de-lifes her? I can't think of a better word for it. xD I know you said the face was turned away and a bit less symbolically innocent than the body, but I'm just not a fan of that green. She looks more like a statue to me because of it.

If I were going to suggest a colour to pull from, there's a really lovely purple of some fabric over the tree that I think you could desaturate and pull into the body/face. I think it could keep that darker face you liked, but would also make her more real in reflecting the environment. (If that didn't work, I a lighter version of the blue in the tree might be nice. I mentioned the purple first because of the pretty orange leaves and her hair. I think the purple would compliment those prettily.)

IF THAT MAKES SENSE I HOPE I typed half of this comment before starting work, and half after a full day so I'm a little scattered. xD"

The more I contemplate the characters of LotR, the more I find them interesting. O_o I have to say, I think Denethor actually is the least appreciated for the fantastic character that he is.

But he hasn't got boobs and he doesn't sparkle in sunlight. So.

Thank you so much for thinking that. >< The lighting and limited palette are the things I gravitated most towards in the movies ~ which remain the most visually beautiful films I've ever seen [with Avatar being a close second ... but... not quite.] I am glad to have others think I've pulled it off to some decent effect.
