Description
An orchid in my parents' dining room. ^^Also:
More working of paint, trying to understand this media well enough to do a comic in it. Might have to paint this flower again, as having it in front of me was very nice for reference's sake.
Watercolor, 5 x 7.
The original is 35$, if anyone is feeling the need to redecorate their bathroom. (post card prints are 3$)

Looks like a Dendrobium- am I correct?
Did you know that that genus name stems from the latin that means "tree of life"? Might be an interesting inspiration there, but you capture that theme well here as well.

Ahh, beautiful! My family lived in Hawaii for a couple of years and there were orchids all over the place. Good memories.
