once a recovering cancer patient, Lucas was offered a chance to try new experimental tests in hopes of finding a cure. the experiment was being conducted at Cortex labs (soon renamed Jetoba inc.) however, the test was actually a new way to create Jetoba droids, in the end Lucas's cranium was removed from his body and put into the prototype android known as Endoman.
