does it work with resin?
My cosplay I just made was falling apart.... thankfully after I got off stage and some kids smashed the charms against my chair.... and some fell off. Super glue and fabric with resin doesn't work. it did at first though.

I'm sorry your charms got smashed! That's sad, I hate it when costumes get beaten and broken, it's happened to me before. If you're looking for a really strong bond on the resin, I wouldn't recommended the Magna-Tac. Try using a two-part epoxy. You can buy this at any hardware store, it's the kind that comes in a double-barreled syringe-looking tube.

Thanks, why didn't I think of this before... I have some but for another outfit that unfortunatley has been put on the shelf for awhile.

Yeah, it sucks when it happens, but thank goodness I will be using something else, Leather! I got some for super cheap that may just do the trick... now I can sit without worry or discomfort. (I had to sit backwards so I wouldn't smash them myself)

I will remember this trick in the future. Thanks so much for always willing to help me out!

Not a problem! Anytime! I like helping people with their projects Leather is a great solution! You know that gets me thinking that I should learn a bit of leatherworking, I see people making some awesome armor out of it. I'm happy that your charms won't break anymore!

You should try it... bit expensive though, but definitely worth it in the end! I found it very fun and durable medium. I found that hobby lobby has the best deals on odds and ends scraps (that i have found so far at least)
I'm happy my charms won't destroy themselves too!

Great tip! Is it good with styrofoam?

It wont work with polystyrene foam (the hard white crumbly stuff, or pink insulation foam). I haven't tried it on craft foam or EVA foam, these are chemically different than polystyrene foam so there's a chance it will work! I'd be curious to give it a try! I hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply!
I recently ended up using Gorilla Glue with styrofoam. It works very well, just takes foreverrrr to hold for it to dry.Β

Huh, I didn't know gorilla glue worked with styrofoam. That's good to know! I'll give it a try sometime

I would like to know this too! Β All the good craft glue I have melts styrofoam! Β Though, I've been using silicon sealer to glue styrofoam.

Magna-tac will not work on standard Styrofoam (expanded polystyrene, the hard crumbly stuff), unfortunately. It will melt right through it. I haven't tried it on craft foam, however. Craft foam is chemically different than standard Styrofoam... and the product specs for Magna-tac say it sticks well to porous surfaces... it's definitely worth doing a test!

As for gluing standard Styrofoam, regular white glue (Elmers, school glue) and rubber cement will both work really well! You can also buy a caulking tube of Foamboard Adhesive at a hardware store or home improvement store, which is meant for gluing Styrofoam together. I've used the foamboard adhesive, and it works pretty well. Hope this helps

I've never tried silicone sealer on Styrofoam. Does it work well?
