How durable is Worbla? I've been considering using it for LARP armor, but I'm not sure how much of a beating it can withstand.

You can buy it online! I bought it off of CosplaySupplies.com, if that's any help!

You're very welcome! Fires-storm. Now my question is, can you use your firestorm to heat up your Worbla?

Sadly no, it is a low heat fire, lol!

Great! This was my first time using it too, and I can tell you that after the first piece or two of armor I made, the process of heating and working with the Worbla becomes really intuitive and easy. Good luck with your armor!

Where do you get your craft foam and peel and stick craft foam? I live in a very rural area so we don't have access to super neat craft stores. I've used insulation sheet but craft foam just seems like it would make my life wayyy easier!

Yeah craft foam does make things easy! And I love the peel-and-stick. I bought mine online, here is a place you can buy it! It's listed as 'self-adhesive' craft foam on the website: kwikcrafts.com/crafts/categoryβ¦

You're welcome! This was the first time I had tried doing it this way, and I was surprised by the detail it could produce. Even if there was a piece of armor more detailed than what I showed in the tutorial, I'll guarantee that if you can cut it out of craft foam then it will look good when you add the Worbla

And here I thought I was being terribly inventive doing the details in craft foam instead of adding them with Worbla later...
It IS a great tutorial, and I never thought of documenting it step by step myself. Great to share this with the community!
I can vouch for the level of detail you can create with this method.
The bird symbol on the chest, the raised areas on the braacers are all cutΒ out craft foam between layers of Worbla. nephtis.deviantart.com/art/Morβ¦

You were being terribly inventive! You discovered the process on your own, and that's invention in my book. I'm sure plenty of other people out there have used the same process. But thank you, I'm glad you liked the tutorial. Well I am very impressed with your Nightingale armor, it looks awesome! I'll post your link in the description so other people can see. And it's true, your armor does have a lot of detail, and it came out really clean - you wouldn't even know it was Worbla. And whatever paint you added has a matte finish and makes the Worbla look like leather which is really cool - I haven't seen that before. Nice work!

For once the texture of the material worked in my favor. Often people spent a lot of time smoothing the surface but here I even used dry brushing to accentuate the texture (and the details) even more.
And yes, I used a matte finish.Β

I used to make armor with just plain craft foam, but this looks like it'd be much sturdier. And I really like how the detailing looks with it! Thanks so much for posting this tutorial, I'll have to give it a shot the next time I make some armor!
