--Chapter 7: Daddy, Please Don't... --

--1 month later--

The past month since Aang and Katara's fight was probably one of the best months they've had in the household. Nobody fought, everyone helped each other around the house and everyone seemed happier.

"Good morning, baby." Aang said as he walked into the kitchen, watching Katara scramble eggs for breakfast. He gave her a little kiss on the cheek. Katara smiled. "Good morning, Aang." Aang walked to the high chair where Kya was eating some Cheerios that were on her tray. "Good morning, Kya." Aang said and gave her kiss on the forehead. Kya smiled and threw a Cheerio at Aang. Aang and Katara laughed.

"Did you shower yet, Aang?" Katara asked. Aang had a sly look on his face. "Why, you wanna take a shower together?" Aang asked. Katara laughed. "No, Im good. I was just asking because I was wondering if that's what you're wearing today." Katara said. Aang looked down at his clothes. "What's wrong with what Im wearing?" Aang asked. "Well, my father is coming down for the week and he said he has a big surprise and wants to take all of us out for lunch today." Katara explained. "Oh, well then I should probably get dressed then." Aang said.

--That afternoon--

"Im so excited to see dad!" Sokka said, holding Lee and walking into the restraunt where they are suppose to meet Hakoda. "Me too." Katara said, hold Kya in her right arm and the diaper bag on her left shoulder. "Grampy!" Kyoshi said when Hakoda walked towards them. "Hi Kyoshi!" Hakoda said and picked her up from Suki's arms. "And how are my other grand-babies?" Hakoda asked. "Dad, this is your grandson Lee." Sokka said. Hakoda handed Kyoshi back to Suki and picked up Lee out of Sokka's arms. "My first grandson." Hakoda said and smiled. "And how is baby Kya?" Hakoda asked and looked up at Katara. "Here she is." Katara said. Hakoda handed Lee back to Sokka and picked up Kya out of Katara's arms. "Hi Kya. Can you say grandpa?" Hakoda asked Kya. Kya shook her head and then held her arms out for Katara to picked her up out of Hakoda's arms. "So dad, you said you had a surprise for us?" Katara said as she took Kya out of Hakoda's arms. "Oh yeah, follow me." Hadoka said.

The gang followed Hakoda to a large table where a woman was sitting. "Everybody, I'd like you to me Karrah, my new girlfriend." Hakoda said. Sokka smiled at Karrah. "Hello, Karrah, Im Sokka." Sokka held his right hand out and Karrah shook his hand. "Very nice to meet you Sokka." Karrah said. "And this is my wife Suki and our children, Lee and Kyoshi." Sokka said. "You have such beautiful children." Karrah said. "They take from my side of the family." Hakoda said and everybody but Katara laughed.

"You must be Katara." Karrah said to Katara. Katara smiled as politely as she could. "Aang, hold Kya." Katara said. "Why?" Aang asked. "Because I think Im going to throw up." Katara said and handed Kya to Aang. She then ran to the bathroom. "Is she alright?" Hakoda asked Aang. "I uh, I dont know." Aang said. "I'll go check on her." Suki said and handed Kyoshi to Hakoda.

--In the bathroom--

Suki ran into the bathroom to find Katara looking at herself in the mirror. "Katara... are you ok?" Suki asked. Katara looked at her and showed her a fake smiled. "Of course. I just felt a little... queezy... is all." Katara said and tried to leave the bathroom but Suki grabbed her arm before she got to the door. "Are you sure?" Suki asked. "I said I was fine!" Katara snapped, yanked her arm back and walked out the bathroom door. "What has gotten into her?" Suki asked herself.

--During lunch--

"So, Karrah, tell us a little bit about yourself." Sokka said to Karrah as he was chowing down his tuna fish sandwich. "Sokka, manners." Suki whispered to Sokka. "Oh, my bad. Please tell us a little bit about yourself." Sokka said. Suki slapped her forehead. "Where is that foam bat when it's needed?" Suki asked herself. "Obviously not here." Katara said with hostility in her voice, as she stared and picked at her chicken salad. "Katara, manners." Aang whispered to Katara. "Hmph." Katara replied back.

"Well, actually I own this restraunt. So this entire meal is for free." Karrah said. "That's awesome!" Sokka said. "Oh, so you take advantage of the fact that you own this restraunt and get free meals? I bet your employees dont get that!" Katara snapped. Everybody starred at Katara. "They get discounts...?" Karrah replied, not sure if she should. "Katara, can I see you over there for a minute?" Aang asked as he pointed at the door. "Of course, Aang." Katara said. Aang yanked her arm and pulled her over by the door.

"What is wrong with you? You're being completely rude to Karrah." Aang said. "What's wrong with me? What's wrong with dad! He swore to my mother that he would never love anyone else if something were to happen to her!" Katara said. "Oh... this is about your mother, isnt it?" Aang asked. "Just forget about it." Katara said and she went back to the table.

--Back at home--

"EMERGENCY CALL 9-1-1! SHE'S PISSED OFF AT EVERYONE! POLICE RESCUE, FBI! SHE WANTS A RIOT! SHE WANTS A RIOT!" Toph singing at the top of her lungs. Then, the front door opened. Toph hurried and turned off the music and ran upstairs.

"You know, Katara. You could of given her a chance." Sokka said. "She was very nice, and she owns a restraunt! You know how much I love to eat!"

"Then obviously you didnt love mom as much as I did!" Katara said and ran upstairs with tears running down her face. "I'll go check on her this time." Aang said and followed Katara.

--In their bedroom--

Katara was laying on the bed, crying into her pillow. "Baby... what's going on?" Aang asked. "I hate her! I hate her! I hate her!" Katara screamed into her pillow. "You hate who?" Aang asked. Katara lifted her head. "Karrah! She's trying to replace my mother!" Katara yelled. "No she's not Katara. She's not trying to replace you mother." Aang said calmly. "Yes she is! Sokka loves her, my dad loves her! But not me. I hate her! I will never accept her!" Katara ripped her pillow open and feathers flew all over the place. "Ok, now we need a new pillow." Aang said calmly to himself. "I hate Ozai too! This is all his fault!" Katara yelled. That caught Aang's attention, big time. "Who's Ozai?" Aang asked. "Just forget it." Katara said and rested her head on the empty pillow case. "No seriously, who's Ozai? And what did he do?" Aang asked. He sat next to Katara.

Katara lifted her head. "I never told you the story on how my mother died?" Katara asked. Aang shook his head. "Ugh. Now you probably expect me to tell you, dont you?" Katara asked. Aang nodded his head. "Well, when I was 8, there was a terrible snow storm. We didnt have any food, and we couldnt drive because it was an accident waiting to happen, so my mom decided to walk to the convienant store across the street to by some Raviollis for Sokka and I. My father was at work at the time so he couldnt walk with her but she assured us that she would be fine. After a half hour, and my mom didnt come back, we called my dad at work. He rushed home as quickly as he could. We told him that she went to the convientant store and she hadn't returned yet, by then it was already over an hour since she was gone. My dad went to the convientant store and saw a bunch of police cars and an ambulance. He rushed over to the ambulance where they were putting a stretcher into the ambulance. The police asked if he knew who the woman was that was found. They lifted the cover and there was my mother... dead. They also found the man who killed her. He raped her, shot her in the head and stole 26 dollars out of her wallet. 26 DOLLARS!! HOW COULD HE OF DONE THAT TO MY MOTHER FOR 26 DOLLARS!!" Katara began to cry again. Aang rubbed her back and gave her a hug.

"IF IT WASNT FOR HIM, MY MOTHER WOULD STILL BE ALIVE AND... AND KARRAH WOULDNT BE IN THE PICTURE!!" Katara yelled. Aang held her head close to his shoulder and ran his hand through her soft, brown hair. "Shhh... it's alright." Aang said, trying to soothe her. "No its not. My mother didnt get to see Sokka or I grow up and dont get to meet her grandchildren. She was still young, she didnt get to live her life the way she deserved." Katara sobbed into Aang's shoulder. "Yes she does. She does get to see you grow up and get to see her grandchildren." Aang said. Katara shifted her head to where Aang could only see her eyes. "What are you talking about?" Katara asked. "She watching over you and Sokka and everybody else in the family in the Spirit World." Aang said. "She's always going to be with you." Katara lifted her head completely and rubbed her eyes. "You think so?" Katara asked. "I know so." Aang said. Katara smiled a little and Aang gave her a big hug. "I love you." Katara said. "You always know what to say to make me feel... better." Aang smiled. "Well, Im glad. And I love you too. Come on, let's go down stairs." Katara nodded and followed Aang out of the room.

--Downstairs--

Sokka, Suki, Toph, Hakoda, Karrah and all the babies were in the living room when Katara and Aang came downstairs. "Hey Aang, how did you cheer her up? Did you give her the good stuff?" Toph asked. "Ugh, where's that foam bat when it's needed?" Sokka asked. "I dont know, you always have it." Suki said.

"Hey Karrah, would you like to go for a walk?" Katara asked Karrah. Everybody but Karrah looked at Katara with the 'What kind of drugs are you on?' kind of look. Karrah smiled. "I would loved too." Karrah said. "Watch out, Karrah. Katara can be pretty fiesty. Bring a cell phone to call the police if you need to." Sokka said.

--At the park--

"You have a very lovely family, Katara." Karrah said, trying to break the silence that was between them for the past 20 minutes. "Yeah, I know." Katara said with a cocky attitude. "So... I heard about what happened to your mother. Im so sorry that such a tragedy had to happen to you at such a young age." Karrah said. Katara looked down at the ground. "Yeah... it was." Katara said. "You know, something similar like that happened to my aunt. It was very awful... so if you need someone to talk to, Im here to talk at anytime." Karrah said. Katara looked at Karrah. "No. You will NEVER mention of this around me." Katara said. "Alright, Im sorry." Karrah said. "You can date my father and visit and give us free meals all you want, I will NEVER accept you as my mother. EVER!" Katara snapped and then she walked away.
