Description Being a designer, political madman & a movie nut, makes the 1981 Delorean my favorite car. Like it's a god damn space ship....gullwing doors, stainless steel body (no paint), Lotus engine.....I could go on forever. So on my myspace profile, I usually have a small section talking about this vehicle. So last night I went looking for a new pic to replace the old one and I found this. It was a design by some other De Lorean fanatic but just the car. This car does not really exist and there is no plans to build one. So in all fun I figured it needed an advertisers touch. so I came up with these two.

Now that, Is what a DeLorean should look like! But I bet it'd be awfully expensive, as if DeLoreans weren't. I has a similar shape to the Volkswagen Nardo Concep car.

Nice! Looks a bit like a Diablo but with its own individual look.

This is really excellent work Bloodcapsule!

You've captured the 'feel' of the original DeLorean Motor Company corporate identity really well your choice of graphics and typefaces used here.

Just FYI: although the suspension set-up on the DeLorean was engineered by Lotus, the DeLorean engine itself is a PRV V6, not a Lotus engine.

Yeah but they were the specs the dude had, I realize in the original that the engine was not made by of Lotus parts. However Lotus does make replacement parts that work for the old DMC. But thanx for the comment, Johnny Delorean was such a funny scoundrel and auto crack-head villian. He was a designer that hit hard to make sure he left a legacy and his fingerprint on the vehicle industry. He fought for ideas and excelled being a bastard. I respect that. However, the later in life the born again christian thing is soooo fucking bunk. Went out like a schmuck. He shoulda rose from the ashes but he chose god. Meh....

Oh, I see what you mean: the "new" version had a Lotus engine

Yes the DeLorean story certainly is a unique chapter in automotive history. It could be argued that after the drug trial happened there was no possible way to ressurect the company as it was too far down a slippery slope. Still, history is history I guess (even in a DeLorean!). I'm still glad to be a part of that history today [link]
