Description
The Blood Diamond Sisters began their life as a single gem, the magnificent Blood Diamond, who served Homeworld with her two loyal pearls.

The single diamond lived a peaceful life with the other diamonds of Homeworld. Her duty was to be judge, jury, and executioner; tasked with hosting the trials of Homeworld and providing untainted justice. All was well until after a particularly paramount trial. During recess, Blood Diamond ventured into the courtyard to clear her mind and to think over the trial at hand. Her majesty only brought her pearls and a pair of guards to follow behind her as she sauntered about, outside of the court's walls.

Unfortunately, the Blood Diamond's small band of companions would prove to be inadequate. As she was deep in thought, she had not realized a group of gems had followed her and proofed her pearls as well as permanently disable her guards without her even noticing. When she refocused and turned to face her pearls she was met with the group of gems who desired to have her shattered. They demanded the trial be swayed in favor of their party, the bargain: her life. She refused to obscure the justice she embodied and lowered herself to her knees in resignation. Her majesty knew she was not as powerful as her sisters and that this was the path to least destruction. If she went quietly then, perhaps, they would spare her pearls and any others who might rush to her rescue.

And so, ended the reign of Blood Diamond. No one can explain the miracle that followed her attempted shattering.

Days, perhaps weeks or months later the larger fragment of what was blood diamonds gem glowed brilliantly and took form. The diamond who formed recalled the room as her own, however, everything seemed to be larger than she remembered.

The thought was replaced in her mind soon after when she noticed an unfamiliar -and yet familiar- gem lying next to her. Immediately she took to waking the gem, after all, who dare intrude in her room? The smaller gem spoke upon waking but didn’t take well to being called an intruder in a room she was sure was her own. It didn’t take the gems long before realizing they were both correct and that the gems they’d been looking upon we’re none other than the other half of themselves.

From that day forward they lived as twin sisters, born from the same gem. Not knowing what to do they looked to their sisters; who decided their tragedy was somewhat of an abomination but one that was potentially useful in research. However, the now halved Blood Diamonds chose to leave home to find a place where they could seek answers and safety from those who may have desired to finish the job started. Of course, they had many loyal followers who proudly abandoned their lives on Homeworld to start a new colony among the distant stars.

That brings the story to today, where the colony of the Blood Diamond Sisters thrives along with their magnificent people, in almost perfect harmony.

The Split.

After the Blood Diamond's first round of gem experiments came to a close, they found themselves looking at a chart marked with nothing but failure. Baby was furious at the number of week gems that laid, shattered, in piles while her sister was on the verge of tears. The taller sister could not stand to see them all, the crushed vessels of her loyal subjects. Baby decided to end testing for today, and her sister eagerly agreed, if she didn’t get a break from all the death she herself might shatter from grief. The bigger Blood Diamond ordered the pearls to put each gem’s shards into their own glass box to be placed in the memorial wing of the cemetery, so they would be remembered with honor for their sacrifice.

The experiments did not end there however and Big Blood Diamond’s heart broke a bit more with each *CRACK* of someone being shattered inside the awful machine, she couldn't even stand to look as her sister worked. Baby’s face looked much to amused as the pile grew, calling for test subject after test subject to be placed into the machine. The sound came like clockwork, a loud crack each time, and every time Big was pushed closer and closer to her breaking point.

As Baby ordered another gem to be placed into the machine, Big could no longer stand the nauseating sound of death, she hastily took the last three test subjects into her hands and held them away from her sister; “ We can’t keep doing this, Baby.”

“What are you talking about?” the smaller sister asked, annoyedly gesturing for the three gems to be returned.

“This! This whole process! This… Machine. I can’t do it anymore, I can't stand all of this death, they trusted us, Baby. I don’t know if we can even call it Science anymore, it’s slaughter at this point”

“If you are incapable of participating then you are dismissed, sister. I don’t need you…” Baby motioned for her pearl to grab the research and fallow after her, leaving Big Diamond alone with the 3 gems she’d managed to save.

Being in bad standing with her smaller sister was upsetting, they were meant to get along. Sometimes she doubted if they truly were once a single gem, they were nothing alike and yet the gems on their lower backs insisted they were. Big Diamond could only wonder how baby managed to insist on continuing the harrowing experiments. Sure, she’d like to know how it came to be that the two of them had come from a single gem but the tests had to end. Her people were dying for nothing, and so it was now that she came to confront her little sister.

Baby, of course, did not see it the same way. The sacrifice was necessary and what were a few dead gems when they could create hundreds more? She was determined to recreate the split and would do whatever it would take to make it happen.

“Like I said, Big, If you can’t handle it that’s not my issue. We’ve…no. I’ve worked too hard to get this point. If you even think about getting in my way, it won’t matter that you’re my sister.”

Big curtsied and muttered that she understood before leaving and taking a deep breath. There was no changing her sister's mind, so Big Diamond decided she was left with only one option: destroy the machine. There was no way baby’s threat held any weight, they were just empty words meant to deter her from doing what she knew had to be done. It didn’t take much to destroy the machine. Slashed wiring and a fried CPU was more than enough to render it unrepairable.

“I warned you didn’t I?” An angry voice called to her from behind.

“Baby… it had to be done. We need to focus on running the colony, not these murderous experiments. You’re better than this.” Big stepped closer to her sister smiling sweetly and extending her hand, in hopes that baby’s smaller one would be placed in it.

However, instead of receiving the gentle touch of her sister's hand, a sickening pain blossomed from her chest. With a small gasp, her shaky hands and fingers found their way to where baby’s long cane pierced her. Her eyes followed the cane down to the hand that held it, and from the hand that held it up the arm and to her sisters face.

“Try me again, and I’ll shatter you.”

Wide-eyed and betrayed Big Diamond opened her mouth to speak, only to have the cane ripped out, causing her form to destabilize and her gem clink to the ground, poofed.

Baby and her cohorts disappeared soon after as gossip of the event leaked from the castle to the cities and to the other planets. All headlines read “Blood Diamonds Split! Big Diamond poofed, Baby Diamond Nowhere to be found.” What was going to happen now that the Diamonds split? As the rumors spread so did the divide of the people, fueled by the constant debate of who was the better diamond.
