It is not what is happening here, for Griffiths is actually trying to figure out why he can't counteract the disappearing flesh his formula causes.  But one can just reverse the idea, and make the poor mad scientist worry about how he can get any dentist to assist with his monumental tooth ache, when they cannot see his mouth's inside or his teeth for that matter!

I agree twofacetoo, he had a brilliant voice for the roll... Too bad he didn't play the roll of the character in "The Invisible Man Returns"
