okay!!! so i finally FINALLY finished this!!!

took me forever.. i know it isnt the best but im still really proud of it ^^

(i do not own the characters Prince Artemis or Lord Solaris... i only take credit for this art/fanart ^^)

Artemis "Brother you can't be serious.. you TOLD me it would be equal rule.. why did you lie?"

Solaris "You know this is different.. this isn't just about following our duties assigned to us, this is about the division of an entire kingdom being at stake!"

Artemis "But you didn't even LET me say my idea! You didn't even let me finish talking!"

Solaris "You DIDN'T tell me of this 'idea' of yours before, and you announced it in front of the council without warning.. This is unacceptable behavior and i expected better from you brother.."

Artemis *scoffs* "And i expected you to at least stand up for me and hear my idea out instead of making me look like a colt in front of everypony.."

Solaris "ENOUGH! Artemis, you know that you can't be standing on top of the council's table and announcing an idea that HASN'T been run over and approved by at LEAST me.. What were you even trying to prove?" *turns to look back at his younger sibling*

Artemis *lowers head* "I....I just wanted to help... i wanted to...-"

Solaris "You thought that prancing on the chamber's table and screaming 'i have an idea..! i have an idea!' *Solaris does an exaggerated prancing motion on the spot, mocking his brother* ...would HELP?!

Art.. I'm sorry but I have no other choice but to take over your duties and strip you of your rank.. because today you proved to me, and the entire council, that you are not mature enough to take any of this seriously!" *turns back on brother and gazes into the growing sun rise*

Artemis "I... wanted to be like you!"
Artemis could barely get the words out due to the tears streaming down his face, and the knot growing in his throat... He turns and runs out of the doorway, down the halls and away from the palace.. away from his responsibilities. He will NOT be like his brother...
Artemis "I... can do this.. on my OWN then!"
*he races towards the forest surrounding the kingdom and dodges past trees until he makes it to an abandoned mansion.*

it was crumbling and the outside appeared a green colour due to nature taking growth on the cracking walls. Artemis approached this with both excitement and pain...
Artemis "Home.. its been so long.." *he races through the open doorway, the doors have rotted off of their hinges allowing him to push his way through*
he knows these halls.. he feels his hooves leading him down the slowly brightening hallways as he makes his way to the central tower. He can see the sun rays shining through the old broken windows, and it lit the way as he climbed the long stairway up.
Artemis "almost..." he feels his hooves reach the last step and then he sees it. "..There!"

Sitting in the center of the room, still on its pedestal, was a shiny helm. It casted reflections of blue and purple as the light caught it. Artemis could feel the power radiating from it as he stepped closer.

"my destiny..."
