Description -Soundboard starts up of near silent footsteps padded as if on paws-

-A loud metallic crash sounds much like a metal cage door slamming-

-Bass and drums begin in unison-

Verse 1

A black footed ferret kissing the sky above her nose,
That little gleam in her eyes promising another day of energy and love,
Bouncing in her cage and squeaking excitedly when often she looks up,
And her human daddy is above,
Never one to hurt or betray, this gentle ferret curls against her daddy's arms,
Snuggled deep against his chest, where his heart can only beat,
From the shady unknown the human found this ferret, and as he swore to hold her tight,
This pet and him were never destined to certain extent,
Upon accidental chance had they figured upon the chance to meet.

Chorus

Little ferret I find to protect and love,
Never cower  in your cage, never release to let me go,
I've lost too many pets to see you flee as well,
To find another owner and another cage in something I can barely comprehend or slightly know,
I'd sneak down near your cage in a softer night,
Your playful body twisting almost as if to perform a show,
Unable to resist the adorable charm before my energetic figure,
I'd scoop you up and cradle you,
Petting your very fur sweetly and so slow,
During the day you'd sleep in a bundled blanket,
Your black markings almost form the outline of a skirt,
I will lose you soon, perhaps I already have,
I will wait for you to return to the cage that I held very only for you,
Writing lyrics while you toss within the ferret dirt.

Verse 2

A sweet scent once carried from your form, invisibly tangled in your fur,
But now a stranger scent, not disgusting, but rather different,
Drifts from the figure I look down upon as you lay quiet within my arms,
How could I ever regret taking in the sweet ferret that you are?
Never one to resist my attention, never one to deny me warmth,
Could it ever be possible for one to bring the other harm?
As the days carried on and the nights were warm no more,
Your claws seemed to lash a little harder, leaving scratches on my wrist,
You stayed in main solitude within your quiet cage,
Growling every time I leaned in to give your nose a kiss,
I woke one day to  hold you tightly with a smile,
But you lashed out instead and bit my wrist until it bled,
With a swift drop you darted into the darker world,
What was that feeling swimming in my head?
I can only ideate on where I went wrong,
Sickly sure that you have found another owner out there indeed,
The only thing you might not have realized  at  all,
You were the only for me to need.
