Story (Added After Judging)
Total Word Count: 1164

"Well then Roller on to the final race of the month!" the young blonde haired woman called Sarah Jones said as she pulled up the handbrake of the Crown Derby Stables racing trailer, which was now parked up in the owner and horses designated parking lot at Goodwood Racecourse. From where she was sat in the drivers seat of the trailer Sarah chuckled as she heard her small bay colt Roller Point shuffling excitedly around in the back of the trailer.

After a minute or two Sarah then unlocked the door and jumped down from the drivers seat. She then closed the door and locked it before she then walked around to the back of the trailer where she then unlocked the latches before she then lowered the back of the trailer to the ground. After she had walked up the ramp she collected the small bay colts halter and lead rope from their hook upon the wall "Thankfully all of our other things were sent here ahead of us" Sarah smiled as she turned to face Roller Point in the main body of the Crown Derby Stables racing trailer. The small bay colt stood there silently tied up and waiting as he usually was, as the young blonde haired woman carefully moved around him until she was by Roller Points head....the colt had his eyes shut dozing. Sarah smiled at the sight "I know your not sleeping Roller" Sarah said teasingly, still the small bay thoroughbred colt did not even flicker an eyelid at her "Well then I will have to go and say that your too tired to race today then" Sarah said making a move to exit the trailer, that had done it however. At her words Roller Points eyes snapped opened and his head shot around as far as it would go till he was glaring at her in some alarm. "Ah-ha!" Sarah exclaimed spinning around to stare straight into Roller Point's eyes "I knew you were not sleeping" she said. Roller Point snorted seeming to roll his eyes at her before he turned his head back around and Sarah moved back to his head, where with a stupidly proud grin she put the halter on the colt and clipped the lead rope to it before she untied the colt and backed him down the trailer ramp.

"Brilliantly done and without any accidents" Sarah breathed giving Roller Point a pat on the neck as they stood upon solid ground. With one hand she then closed up the trailer before she led Roller Point towards the stable that had been assigned for the racers of that days meeting.

Sarah had been smart in having the idea to send in their sign in and register forms in before they had come so she did not need to go and rush over to sign her and her small bay thoroughbred colt CDS Roller Point in for the Goodwood race meeting.

Therefore now that meant that she could take her time in settling Roller Point in and getting him ready for the race which happened to be the Molecomb Stakes grade three. Thankfully once the pair reached the stables the tall main double doors had been opened wide so people and horses could easily go in and out without delay. Sarah led the small bay colt inside and down the central alleyway of the stable muttering to herself and to Roller as she went "No.....no...no" Sarah muttered as they past many names on doors that wasn't Roller's that was until Sarah saw it "Ah-ha! here we go!" she grinned as she opened the stall door and led Roller Point inside the stall door swinging shut behind them as she did so.

The small bay thoroughbred colt settled into his temporary stall very quickly and once Sarah was sure of it she then went and grabbed a grooming kit and brushed Roller Point down. Once she was happy with her grooming efforts Sarah then returned the grooming kit to the tack room and whilst she was in there she grabbed the small bay thoroughbred colts tack and headed back to his stall with it.

Sarah carried the tack inside the stall and stood before Roller Point. "Right then lets do this boy" Sarah smiled before she began to tack up the colt. Once she had finished she took a step back to admire her work, "Brilliant!" Sarah smiled clapping her hands together before she headed out of the stall, up the central alleyway and outside the stable from there she then made her way towards the jockey changing rooms.

Sarah had found that it had not taken her long to get changed once again into the black and red racing silks of Crown Derby Stables. With a grin she brushed herself down and stepped out of the jockeys changing room, feeling ready to go. The weather was cloudy but it was warm enough so that was ok. So with her head held high the young blonde haired woman strode back towards the stable and away from the jockeys changing room, being one of the first jockeys to do so.

A couple of moments later Sarah was back at the stables standing at the top of the central alleyway that ran up the middle of it near the main double doors. She breathed a sigh of relief to be back in the stable before she then made her way down the central alleyway back towards Roller Point's assigned stall. The small bay colt of course was waiting for her as he always was, his fully tacked head over his stall door watching her coming towards him intently. "Waiting for me were you" Sarah chuckled as she stroked Roller Points white star marking upon his forehead. "Let's go do what we do best boy" Sarah said her voice quiet as she spoke to the small bay thoroughbred colt.

A little while later Sarah found herself back inside the waiting area with the other jockeys who were waiting for their horses to be brought out from their own waiting area.

After a few moments the sound of the gate at the entrance of the waiting area being opened filled the air being quickly replaced by the sound of horses hooves. The gate of the parade ring paddock was then opened and all of the jockeys including Sarah walked through the gate into the parade ring paddock.

Sarah easily spotted Roller Point among the horses being led around the parade ring paddock. He thankfully wasn't far away from her and so it made it easier for her to reach him. She was at his side very quickly and took no time in mounting up onto the small bay colts back. Sarah then took the colts reigns up into her gloved hands as she listened to Rollers lead rope being unclipped.

Then with a deep breath Sarah rode Roller Point through the main gates and headed towards the starting gates.
