I never really liked Thistleclaw yes I did kinda like Thisltleclaw and snowfur as a couple but there were times I still questioned him. Like the time he sounded really disappointed in his son saying he had no fire in his blood like his mother when he was training in the darkforest in crookedstars promise. I think he kept his abusive side hidden really when Snowfur died he let it all out he has been shown to be abusive to tigerpaw to be honest I think he should've went to the darkforest how he treated his apprentice. But I read a bit even with spotted he seemed abusive. I don't give excuses for cats that lose loves etc and after that do bad things I don't even do it with people. But I do agree with someone on here I don't care if Ashfur's ambition left him he attempted murder on 4 cats to me that is still reason to be sent to the darkforest! but at all put honesty I believe Thistleclaw decided he wanted to stay in the Darkforest like Mapleshade did to me Starclan wouldn't suit him because he was so ambitious.

They stated that the goal of their romance was to show people why Thistleclaw did actually go to the Dark Forest. 
Not because he was violent, not because he trained Tigerpaw, but because of what he did with Spottedpaw. 
Pretty sorry-ass excuse to justify something they never actually thought about thoroughly enough to defend it against their readers, imo. 
I never likes Thistleclaw, but the way I see it they completely killed off anything that ever was interesting about him...

I feel so bad for Thistle and Snow, like, Ashfur tries to kill three cats, and Thistle is only trying to get revenge since his mate was killed, and ASHFUR goes to StarClan but Thistle doesn't, he goes to Dark Forest, like, what the hell!?
