It's Lawndale High background student Dawn from Daria as a drawing by Al Hirschfeld!
This image is done in the spirit of the Daria end credit sequence.

Dawn is a background character on "Daria" with no lines. She is in Daria's grade and can be seen trying to force herself to read "The Bell Jar" in the episode "The F Word" and on the yearbook staff in the episode "The New Kid." I have been a fan of Hirschfeld's drawing since I was a child. The smooth, flowing lines were magical. Hirschfeld has drawn detailed Broadway and film scenes, but most of my favorites are his simple, single person caricatures. The way he has single, swooping lines imply shape and form *swoon*. This one is a bit of a departure from my other alter egos because this is an art style crossover as opposed to a character/person crossover. You'll recall there are some in the official alter egos like this: Brittany as a Picasso, Jane as an Andy Warhol print, etc.

Getting my own lines to run as smooth as Hirschfekld's, well... er...*shifty eyes* The hardest part was the hands, and I will admit to copying a genuine Hirschfeld hand to get my looking decent. I also traced his signature because he always signed the same, and to me, it's just as much a part of the image as the subject itself. I know I haven't achieved Full Hirschfeld here, because he is a caricature artist, and well, this a drawing of a cartoon character so it's not as exaggerated as it could be, but I think I got the idea across? (There is a hidden NINA, if you care to look)
