Description
A supernova is a powerful and luminous stellar explosion. At its peak brightness, the optical luminosity of a supernova can be comparable to that of an entire galaxy, before fading over several weeks or months. A supernova is a transient astronomical event, occuring during the last evolutionary stages of a massive star or when a white dwarf is triggered into runaway nuclear fusion. Bladt furnace? I like it.
As the word is becoming more obscure in Swedish today, perhaps it is time to reintroduce "masugn" uttered with drawn out awe from the base of the lungs as an exclamation of approval.
At least, seeing this that is what spontaneously comes to mind.

Haha, thanks a lot! Going by the wiki-pages in different languages, Swedish seems to play a fairly lonesome role with having a dedicated word for it. All others are more or less translations of "high furnace"
"Masugn" has a lovely ring to it, makes me wonder if the technical device got its name by what somebody's first words were upon seeing such a thing...

Sort of - but probably half in jest. The word simply means "Mas oven", with "Mas" being medieval Stockholm slang for a Dalecarl.
But it certainly has a nice ring to it, something that invokes an almost From Software-esque feeling of reverent exclamation. Umbasa!
