The aim of the architect of the garden, namely Majorelle, was to incorporate all different plants from his travel but to keep the garden 'real' in the sense it wasn't kept in the traditional French way, perse. Anyhow, his bold use of colour is what makes this garden striking, as well as the rich diversity of the flora present.

Another interesting fact: The deep yet vibrant blue, he picked to be a central theme in his garden, were meant to reflect/represent the deep blue depths of the ocean. This particular colour has been named after its most renowned worshipper; Majorelle blue
