well clearly your doubts were completely missplaced.. (which is rare for me to say to artists.. usually when people have their doubts their pretty accurate) but this photography is seriously just amazing. if i had this shot the only thing i could possibly see myself doing is widening out the white on the sides.. making it seem less zoomed in.. but thats more a preference thing.. you should be proud of this. and yea flattering maybe.. but accurate? yes

I useally have a hard time predicting what people think. Sometimes when I post something I'm really thrilled about, there simply be no comments or only suggestions will be given (which , don't get me wrong, I'm very thankfull for)
And when I post something I'm not really sure of, it's suddenly liked a lot.

haha, its totally true . the same hting happens for me.. or i'll put soo many hours into one piece.. then the next day upload a speedpainting i thought looked cute.. and guess one hits 600 views and the other bairly crawls past 20.. lol.

Wow, I actually have to say this is pretty cool. I absolutely love the detail here, especially at the very tips of the leaves. An original concept as well, which is pretty uncommon on DA. I also really enjoy black and white pieces... no constructive criticism here, sorry.

What colors did it hold originally? Maybe you should choose pieces of it to keep color and then unsaturate everything else? I suppose that might be nice if there were some nice and bold colors on that flower to begin with. Would take some lasso work but I think it would be worth it to spice it up some.

the colours were green and white. hm that would be an idea, but it looked a little uncreative/ordinairy with the white and green.

That's no problem. Im talking about Photoshop, its the tool you use to hand select parts of the photo. So in this case you would use a lasso tool to select what parts of the flower you wanted to keep colored.
