Everyone eles was doing it! So I joined in >u>;. Inari's old clothes were kinda cold for a winter in steel cave. After all it is a cave. Made of steel. So I designed a new outfit for her to suit her surroundings. I love that scarf btw. OuOI really have no clue what the background is supposed to be though you gais D:. It started out as a city background, then kinda evolved into this artic looking thing.....
On another note, I know those boots aren't feudal era japanese shoes, but I got reasons to back this up!
1.There was a western trader that came to town with the boots, and Inari had never seen them before so she spent all her money on them. (which explains why she can't afford a longer kimono >_>; )
2. I really don't know what the japanese wore on their feet in the winter time D: Besides Inari is outside a lot for her work, and needs somrthing warm on her feet >:l
...........Talk to her. The winter time makes her lonely.

Joey held her lamp forward inching her way through the VERY dark cave. "Hm... Next time... I should drag someone with me. Or bring Porkchop," she mumbled to herself.

Inari: Inari was walking throughout the many tunnels of steel cave, on her usual patrol one evening. "*sigh* ....che, I've already been through here twice today. Why the hell does Masa think it needs to be checked again... I should have gone off the clock at least two hours ago. Damn him..."

Inari: When she hears the voice Inari instinctively jumps behind a large rock, and grabs the hilt of her sword. "Oi you! You're not a villager of steel cave, state your business!"

Joey walks further noticing a shift in the shadows. She guides her lamp to shine towards whoever it is in front of her. "Hello, my name is Joey. I'm an explorer and I wanted to possibly map out this village."

Inari: Inari, still with her hand upon her blade, slowly crosses closer to the explorer in a defensive fashion. "What village are you from villager?"

"Thunder Mountain," Joey replied simple with a smile on her face to show that she's not here for trouble. Although, she herself takes a defensive stance being trained as a samurai as well.

Inari:"If it is a map you want then go visit Theimi-sama. She has mapped nearly every inch of steel cave, the rest is dangerous, and surly someone not born of steel cave will become lost forever." Inari inches forward slightly. "Besides, if you only wanted to map out this village, why do you take up a stance?"

Joey chuckles. "How am I not suppose to take up a stance if you're posed to attack?" she returned in a calm joking manner, but slowly eases up so her actions can reflect her words. "I was hoping to explore it myself. See what's there to see and learn what is there to learn," she nodded.
