Yeah, it's good to just get right into it rather than waiting; sometimes it can be pretty maddening when we have to hide what the plot of the chapter is and play coy going in. Being totally up front that the Insomniac is back means we get a really great, striking image with the cover.
Yeah, very proud of how unsettling and "quiet" this cover is. The fact that all you see of Insomniac is the hand, the way the kids are sleep and not aware of what's going on, the fact that they seem sorta captured, the sleeping pills calling back to Insomniac's motivation... It all sort of screams that something is coming and nobody can see it and just love the effect.
Also wanted it to be clear that yeah, Aurora is going to factor into the chapter too, hence her being in the cover box. Hope everybody loves what's planned for this one.
Martin's Comments: Yeah, this is overdue but definitely glad to be back to the story. This cover's in kind of a weird position for us because it's been drawn and colored for a long time at this point, but the whole thing being shaded and us doing the shot of Aurora and the chapter logo came together very last minute. Kind of just was never a priority for us I guess. ... Speaking of I probably should color the pages we have sitting, have the next couple done but I haven't gotten around to doing my part on them yet. Something to be said about a lack of urgency I guess.
Either way, think this one came out pretty good. Kind of minimalist but think it works well for putting over a mood, very gloomy. ... Admittedly looking again the text on the pill bottle could look much better, kind of hadn't realized how sloppy that came out. Is what it is I suppose.
No idea how long this chapter's going to run for, which is sort of funny since we have a bit of a vested interest in having a very solid idea of when it'll end. We'll cross that particular bridge when we come to it I guess.
