Description
Inspired by the up and coming Clone Wars animation, I decided to revisit sketching the dark Jedi Asajj Ventress. She has always been my fave CW character, both in the comics and animations so far - so I have mixed a few styles here and combined it with my own to finish this piece off.Asajj Ventress and all things SW (c) George Lucas

Hehe that I do, I was teaching a class for kids film club this morning, making stop motion animations, good fun to see what they came up with, lol. Quite telling too.

When i'm not conscripted to the highest bidder, I work as a projectionist for an arts cinema, we are also the 'base of operations' for a film consortium who hold classes there for all ages, based on anything from theory to practical. In this instance the kids were aged between 5-9 year olds, they made some pretty cool stop motion animations and got to watch them on the big screen after at their own 'awards' ceremony. Good times were had by all!

She is also my fave from the CW era, and you're right about the tragic story, you start to feel some empathy for her when it's revealed what turned her.

I don't think I've commented on this yet, so here goes.
This is one of my favorite illustrations of Asajj. I really like the detail on her face (her eyes, wow) and robe. Especially the robe.
Although I do think that she may be a bit too skinny (even though she is pretty bony in the TV series, both the old and new one), I still really like your portrayal of her. I also like how you blurred the background of the ROTJ Coruscant.

It's the ROTJ coruscant? lol, I just searched for a pic of coruscant, suppose I could have done eras, but it's from that refference that I did that.
Oh yes, the lightsaber tutorial is very VERY useful, thanks immensely for that

I really enjoyed colouring the fabric this time around, something that I find a bit lengthy and annoying at times. I am soooo impatient.
Note the response I gave to winged jedi for the skinniness issue lol, I blame malnutrition!

The thinness is the fault of my reference, that woman (me) was seriously under nourished at the time lol. I can't remember weather or not this was the one that was going to be a sort of tribute to the new clone wars asajj, with the old twists (tats and such).

Yes, she had really expressive eyebrows in the comics, so I thought i'd add them here. She is ever so slightly backlit for that etherial look...though it was just meant originally to make her stand out from the darkness of coruscant's skyline.

The background was actually something I was working on already, so I took a segment of that and just blurred it lots to make it look out of focus, then used the ever handy cloning tool to brush it in around Asajj, saving me much time and stress on trying to recreate the image around her.

Yeah, she's rather intriguingly sexy in the Clone Wars cartoons. I wouldn't mind getting the figure of her to add to the ol' collection.
