Warm up drawings in limited colour palette featuring me trying to collate little collections of local myths legends and cryptids.
The Tide Hound is a black dog that is anywhere from the size of an actual dog to the size of a ship, with fur made of seaweed that runs across the water and eats the bodies of dead creatures that wash up on the shore; fish, birds, crabs, people, whales, it eats all that it finds and is the reason why the bodies of people who have fallen overboard on ships are never found. It guards the coastline from the ghosts of the drowned who might dare trespass into the shallows, barking and tearing up waves as it fights the ghosts back into their graves on shipwrecks. It is easy to see where the tide hound has been as seaweed washes up in thick patches on the shoreline, littered with the bones and shells of creatures it has devoured.
