I must admit I have started in the book and put it away after two chapters telling myself I'd read it some other time, however this really makes me want to pick it up again

Usually I'm very patient with details and descriptions. (I've managed to get through the never ending story and rereading it many times) it's just I lack time at the moment I have to read books by dutch authors for school.

Yes! I wanted that warm glow to contrast with the cold whiteness of Silas - I wanted him to look very out of place there, eventhough it is what he clings to. You definitely need to read the book! This scene isn't necessarily from the book, but I can imagine Silas doing this often.

Yes, he does! It is part of remembering how Christ suffered for our sins (the barbs represent the thorns of His crown... or something), and it plays a rather integral part of the plot. I can definitely recommend the book - I've loved it thus far!

They are only required to wear it for a maximum of 2hours a day, but zealots (like Silas) would wear it much longer.

Beautiful subdued colors and the line work is quite nice too. I bought the book a few years back, but never read it....hmmm guess its about time.

I just want to make warm glowy stonewall scenes now - I am enthralled with the effect I got from playing around with gradients. You TOTALLY need to read the book - I am loving it!
