Finally! My Da Vinci Code fanartses. This was my impression of Silas (which I later found out is MUCH more canon than the look chosen for the movie). I chose to depict him as naked (well almost) before his God. For some indiscernible reason I find Silas mesmerising. He's a (physically) powerful man, and yet he bends to the will of others to atone for his sins. Odd thing is that he commits most of these sins at the behest of those people! The irony (right word?) burns.

Sorry for the long gap between uploads, but I've had some serious performance anxiety since my last deviation aaaand I've been reading my book! Tried out some new things again - movieclips, masking effects and textures. No sound yet, but I thought it would be inappropriate for a church anyway.

As it says in the credits, "Silas" is the intellectual property of Dan Brown, but the artses are mine. Please, please, please ask before you iconize, repost or use my work in any way. Most likely I will agree, but I want to know where my babies are going!

PS For those wondering, the device around Silas' leg is a cilice, a device used for the practice of corporal mortification. This one is a rather more intricate one than described in the book, but I liked the design.
